Time for a blatant rip-off of Nessy’s tag rules! (Well, what? She basically says all you need to know!)

When submitting games to the Arum Subforum, tags must adhere to the following format.

1 - On your first tag, it has to be the maker, that makes it either:

"RPG Maker VXAce" "RPG Maker VX", "RPG Maker XP" and "IGM"

Make sure to check the box with the words "Use first tag as prefix." Please use only these for your keywords!

2 Your second tag MUST be Arum.

3 If your game is complete, your third tag must be “Complete”. If your game is not complete, skip this step.

4 On your next tag, please specify the genre of your game! You may use more than one tag. Here's a list to help you with that!

  • Action - Active battle system type of games fall under this category. Examples are Legend of Zelda, Seiken Densetsu and Secret of Mana to name a few.
  • Adventure - games that fall under this category are Text Adventure-Type Games. Such examples are Indiana Jones, Monkey Island and Haunted mansion to name a few. A game that has you interact to your surroundings and ability to actually do some actions with them.
  • Platformer - games that fall under this category are games that are actiony but in a sideview format. They may have amazing physics which makes them different from Action RPGs. Examples are not limited to Megaman or Castlevania-esque type of games.
  • RPG - Role Playing Games, which is like majority of our games here! Need I say more?
  • Visual Novel - If you think your game is not exactly an RPG as a whole and it has more text and more to the story, minimal exploration as possible but it still have battles. It's probably a Visual Novel.
  • Tactics - In this category, Metal Gear Solid-esque games fit right on the bill.
  • Strategy- In this category, Tactical or most commonly known as SRPGs like Final Fantasy Tactics, Tactics Ogre and so on fit right here.
5 Once you finished tagging your game based on it's genre. Feel free to add flavor tags~

  • Comedy
  • Cyberpunk
  • Steampunk
  • Modern
  • Sci-Fi
  • Fantasy
  • Western
  • Oriental
  • Post-Apocalyptic
  • Dungeon Crawler
  • Fighting
  • First-Person
  • Sidescroller
  • Overhead
  • Historical
  • Horror
  • Mystery
  • Old School
  • Text

Examples:

For a finished rpg made in vxace with drama, the tags would be:

RPG Maker VXAce, Arum,Complete, RPG, Drama

For an unfinished platformer made in VX with comedy, the tags would be:

RPG Maker VX, Arum, Platformer, Comedy

It's my cute little ghost~
Minecraft Dungeons is a great example of a game that's much simpler than other games in its genre but almost as equally immersive and fun to play. Lotta RPGmaker devs could learn from that lesson.
Well, it's been a while since the last time I came here... Is there a JS scripting FAQ? I'd like to know what it's capable of achieving, and how :rswt
I love the Time Fantasy tiles, but haven't played anything made with it yet. Can anyone recommend me something?
