SYNOPSIS:

Tale's Casino Escape is a real time combat adventure RPG. All the qualities of a good RPG have been combined and applied at Tale's Casino Escape. Come play and feel the adrenaline in your veins!

Here are some of the game's features:

- Allies
EVERY enemie can be your allie. By killing an enemy, you have a small chance of dropping it´s sphere. If you get it, you can use it as your ally.

- Stat Points Distribution
When you level up, you earn points to distribute on your attributes, such as Strength, Defense, Max HP, and so on. (For you and your allies)

- BIG Shop
Like every good RPG, you earn money by killing enemies, selling items, and finding hidden treasures.
Use this money wisely to upgrade characters traits, buy equipments, and other stuff...

- Collect stars and unlock new stages! (Like in Super Mario Galaxy)
Each stage has some quests to complete, for each completed quest you get a star!

- Collect letters during the stage (Like in Donkey Kong you had to get K O N G)
During a stage you can get 4 letters. To get these letters, you will probably have to face a puzzle, or find them hidden somewhere.

- Skills (learn new skills by leveling up)
Each Pet has a different skill. By raising your pet to a certain level, you will learn his skill!

- SS skills

When you take damage, you accumulate SS powers. Use it to dodge and destroy enemies.

- Hidden Items
Like every good RPG, the game is full of hidden things! You will have to beat puzzles and have logical thinking to find them.

Mini games and logical challenges
As said above, the game is challenging. You will have to think of several solutions if you want to complete the game 100%.
*If you do not like puzzles, and logical thinking mini games, do not worry, you can play the game until the end without having to beat these types of challenges.

- Automatic save game after complete stages
No need to open any window to save the game

- Check points during the game
Like most games today, the game has checkpoints during the stage. So if you die don't worry, you will return to the last checkpoint automatically.

- All characters and PETs have their own personality and voices
To introduce some humor, charisma and affection for the characters and the story, all characters and PETs have their own voices, and they speak during the game.
Conversations during the game also have voice acting.

...and much more!
The game is full of good details! Come check it out you will not regret it!

STORYLINE/PLOT:
Once upon a time there was a girl who worked in a casino. She worked so hard, that she couldn't even leave the casino. In fact, she was a prisoner.

So, one day, on a dark and cold night, she gets out of bed, and in light steps she begins to execute her master plan, ESCAPE FROM THE CASINO.

*Please note that due to my limitations the mobile version is not running smoothly. So sometimes, when there is a lot happening, the game can lag, even on high-end phones.

But I could finish the game without any crashes on a S7 edge, s10, and note 9.

Hope you guys like it! :D

@thalesgal Once this goes live in a few days, it will count as a completed game - at least I am assuming that you will only release once it's complete. At that point, please Report your thread and ask for it to be moved from Games in Development to Completed Games.

Hi all!!
I´m stepping by to say that I couldn't release the game on Friday as I said.
I had some problems with steam overlay, and to introduce the achievements.

My luck was the great help of the @Gamefall Team! We managed to fix everything and now everything is wonderful!

The game is working nicely on steam. We have full controller support, shortcuts working as shift-tab for example, and 28 achievements to achieve!

The game is really cool! You will find humor, adventure, strategy, and a lot of RPG!
Now, the real date for the release will be next Friday! September 20th!

Thanks in advance!

Hello guys! :D
After A LOT of work I finally finished my game \o/ Then, after more work xD, I could publish it on steam!! I'm very happy to have made it.
So I´m here to ask for a good samaritan xD, to play the game just a little bit. So I can say that there were people who played the game... ahha xD
I would be very happy and grateful. So, if you could manage to play it just a little bit, please tell me later how was your experience during the gameplay!

The game is paid on steam, but I´ve made available a free demo version, you will be able to play more than 5 hours with this demo version.

That´s it! Thank you very very much in advance!
Here is the game:
(go to the game page and you will find the free demo version)

Sure. I'll try it out. I'll give a quick review on here and on steam and point out it's strengths and were it falls flat and give a rating

Not much to talk about without spoilers. So i'll just list positives and negatives

Positives:
+: Interesting gameplay
+: Challanging
+: Support for controller and keyboard
+: Can play it stealthfully, charge in or do other strategies for combat (Though it is kind of basic)
+: Main charecter has a realistic goal

Negatives:
-: Unintuitive menu's, mapped to different buttons was a major turn off
-: Long unskipable tutorial
-: Keyboard controls are clunky and haven't figured out how to set them to what keys are confrtable to me
-: Didn't like it that some of the enemies were old people
-: Wish the "pets" had better A.I. and didn't just spam their move with no enemies around

I give it a 2/5

Congratulations, you've attracted probably the harshest criticist on the forum. And honestly, I'm not impressed in the slightest.

The combat, which is the main aspect of the game, is among other things slow and sluggish. Mainly thanks to movement speed. The only way to speed up the movement is through dashing... But since dashing causes you to jump two squares forward and not be able to control your character and costs 20 mana as well, I'm not going to use it for land movement, am I? This slow movement is especially painful in peaceful scenes or when you need to walk for a while.
The skill casting twice to cast the QTE is unresponsive, because you have to hit the button twice in a specific time frames... Which led to 4-5 button mashes per casting in the tutorial alone to make sure I hit the button for the second check. Safe to say, it discouraged me from using it.
Speaking of skills, the enemy skills show exactly why vanilla MV fails for action combat systems. Stone throw? Oftentimes the grandpa throws it in a direction that's completely off, because he turns only before moving, but not before casting. Boomerang? Not a problem, just don't stand in the line of fire. Lights? Run away, there's nothing you can do while the casting is on anyway. And that's not all. Enemies casting skills freeze you in place, but you casting skills don't freeze enemies in place, it at best pushes them back. So you can't attack when they do, but they can when you do, which means at times you are screwed unless you attack from distance.
There have also been some other things in combat, for example I hit a mob behind an object or behind a wall with just a regular attack a couple of times, even though the basic attack was not supposed to have range 2 as far as I know. This was caused by them moving in range. MV first changes the coordinate, then plays the movement animation.
The boss's HP meter started off insanely large and decreased, decreased.... until it finally stabilized where it was supposed to be. It was graphically off too, since the excess was some red rectangle.
Another thing is, dead people cast skills if they had begun casting them. I get shot for 100 damage from dead guys with guns. They also receive healing, although the healing is at 0 points.

The transitions are awful. You enter a cutscene, but nothing is happening, because all the important characters are off screen... So you mash keys to move... And wonder why in the world cannot you move. Not everywhere, because in some cases you can see the !!!!! fields appear to at least show you something is happening, although the waiting for that something to happen is excruciating sometimes as well. Another transition, I died in the first stage to the fireballs. Loading from the last checkpoint showed the tutorial keys, then immediately hid them. Loading in other stages did not present that problem.

And my favorite aspect, 100% artificial difficulty. The game is not skill based, for that it's way too slow. All difficulty is achieved through insane stats and RNG. Which is still not difficult enough to stop me from progressing in most places, because a certain spear you get from a certain boomerang throwing girl is so OP I can just kill everybody safely from distance. Not to mention, when they're not in the aggressive mode, I have free picks. And on the other side we have the manager, who has 6 evil grandmas, which cast slow & silence on you, making you stuck in a neverending loop unless you somehow get lucky and manage to keep them away from you (my mistake of using a rare item instead of the OP spear). Then I reach the room with bodyguards and their unskippable scene, pick off all surrounding enemies, because they're not aggressive, then I pick off the security guards one by one... And enter the dreaded staircase. Six overbuffed swordsmen and I'm at the mercy of hoping they don't find a route to trap me, because when one lands an attack, or five, it's all over as there's no way I can escape them. It feels like the final boss in Dark Souls 1, all you do is pray that the insanely large boss doesn't trap you in the corner, from where you cannot escape. And btw. your maneuvering space is even more limited, because if you run too down, six boomerang girls join the scene... and with 12 enemies it's a straight Alt+F4.

As for the rest:
The music doesn't fit the game and I found the speech sounds insanely disturbing.
The UI overlay is above message bubbles, sometimes hampering the readability of them.
The tutorial is too slow. It's nice that we have a graphic demonstration of everything, but when it takes 15 seconds before I can do anything and all I can do till then is watch flashing colors around keys, it's not only too long, it won't help me remember the key in the slightest way.
Graphical bugs from passing half-open doors. In some cases even mobs had graphical bugs when they passed through normally impassable objects (like the children running around on a bed... and through some pot)
Mobs respawn when you change rooms and return. Not only you can grind infinite exp, it's also incredibly easy to do so, because many of them are not aggressive, since they turn aggressive only when you destroy the doors or after a certain movement sequence plays out, which doesn't play out anymore though.
The menus are fairly unintuitive, not to mention it's fairly easy to forget which controls belong to what... but the overlay, which explains them, is no longer visible after the tutorial. Not a problem where you can click, but where you can't click (like toggling the pets skills on and off), it is a problem. Also, I find F1-F12 more intuitive than E for weapons, whatever for equips (btw. sounded weird, MV treats them as armors), F for the "main menu", something to change the active pet,... Especially when keys underneath them are mapped for combat purposes. If you want to make the menu easier to navigate, then put them all in main menu and only have hotkeys as the worst case scenario.
I have triggered a bug, where I had THROUGH on after my first visit to the shop. How I did it, I don't know and don't care to find out honestly. But it means I could cheese the entire level. The through got off by triggering a cutscene, but whatever.
As for the pets, no comment there. It's always been a perverted dream of mine to have a girl as my pet, but she needs to be of some decent age, 8-year-olds are not my thing. Let alone a 70-year-old geezer. This is why we have non-humans as pets in games.
Overall it was not an enjoyable experience... And the game failed in every aspect it could. Which is why such high ratings leave me in shock.
The only thing I can say I liked was, nearly everything was destroyable.

I think you already have a thread for this? Can you just bump it instead? Necroposting doesn't apply to threads you started.

Played this tonight and discovered it has a few stolen assets within. Sprites from Ragnarok Online and Pokemon, to be specific. There are more that we are uncovering and trying to find sources for. Another is a sprite sheet from a Deviant Artist who specifically states their items are NOT for commercial use.

@HawkZombie hello! Thank you so much for playing the game!
About the sprites I've used the default, and the "Add-on Pack", "Cover Art Characters Pack" and "Essentials Set" that I bought from a bundle on steam.

The pokemon you mean about the pokeballs? I made change it a littlebit, I don't know if I could use it that way. Could you give me your opinion please? Do you think is wrong the way it is?

About the Ragnarok. I've used the succubus sprite. She appears only 1 second in the game. As I am amateur in these things, I don´t know very well about these things. I have used it because I am a big fan of ragnarok.

But again I ask, is it illegal the way it is? Could you help me please? If it is illegal I will remove it.

About the Deviant Artist I don't know what asset you are talking about, maybe it's in the bundle I bought. If not, could you tell me which asset it is? I can change it too.

I don't want trouble ok. I created the game because it was a dream for me tp make a game and see it on steam. I am not a professional developer (for sure xD), I did it for hobby because I love the rpg maker.

So please,I didn't want to steal anything. It was not my intention. If you can help me I'll do what you say.
Thank you very much in advance!

@thalesgal I've merged your two threads together.

The pokemon you mean about the pokeballs? I made change it a littlebit, I don't know if I could use it that way. Could you give me your opinion please? Do you think is wrong the way it is?
Just because you edit something doesn't mean you own it (or even had the right to edit it).
About the Ragnarok. I've used the succubus sprite. She appears only 1 second in the game. As I am amateur in these things, I don´t know very well about these things. I have used it because I am a big fan of ragnarok.

If you don't own the art and you don't have the right to use it, then yes that's illegal.

Hello @Oddball thank you so much for the feedback!
Positives:
+: Interesting gameplay
+: Challanging
+: Support for controller and keyboard
+: Can play it stealthfully, charge in or do other strategies for combat (Though it is kind of basic)
+: Main charecter has a realistic goal
These were my goal for the game! I'm glad you liked it!
I give it a 2/5
Thanks for pointing out the negatives!
About the tutorial, and the keys, you're right. I'll think of something to change the way it is.
About the pets A.I. this was the best I could do using events. I'm not good with codes, so I had to do everything with events XD I don't think I can improve it because I have no idea how to make the pet recognize where the enemies are, and then attack them :/

@Poryg hello thank you so much for playing the game! ...and for the feedback XDDD
The combat, which is the main aspect of the game, is among other things slow and sluggish. Mainly thanks to movement speed. The only way to speed up the movement is through dashing... This slow movement is especially painful in peaceful scenes or when you need to walk for a while.
I didn't want to put a dash button because I was worried about messing some parts of the game. Like fights and puzzles. But the player can use some things to go faster. You can go faster using an agility skill, using the evasion button (the one that is locked), and using the dash foward.
The skill casting twice to cast the QTE is unresponsive, because you have to hit the button twice in a specific time frames... Which led to 4-5 button mashes per casting in the tutorial alone to make sure I hit the button for the second check. Safe to say, it discouraged me from using it.
Thanks, I'll think of something to improve this combo!
Speaking of skills, the enemy skills show exactly why vanilla MV fails for action combat systems. Stone throw? These issues you have pointed of pet attacking in empty places, attacks going through walls, and skills that don´t freeze the enemies, it´s a thing that I can´t fix due to my limitations.
Pets attack for example I coudn´t figure out how to an event track another random event. This was my achilles tent. Because every map the number of enemies change, the events changes, and etc...
The through thing If I set the skill to don't go through the walls, this skill will not go through enemies as well, so the skill will always be limited to 1 enemy.
The HP boss thing is something that I manage to create the easy mode. But I will think in somenthing to hide this decrease moment.
The dead casting skills it´s a issue that I coudn´t fix XD
And my favorite aspect, 100% artificial difficulty. The game is not skill based, for that it's way too slow. All difficulty is achieved through insane stats and RNG. The free picks thing, I didn't think of it in a negative way
The manager boss part I put the grandmas for this purpose xDD I thought it would be nice to find this solution to defeat the boss.
About the stairs, it was supposed to go there without being seen by the guards. But I confess that is not very well explained in the game. I will improve this part!
PS: If you are playing in easy mode, you can beatt this part even if you get caught.

The music and the speech sounds I don´t know what to say xD
The tutorial I will change it, I will give hints during the gameplay.
The respaw thing I think it´s normal. If you would like to farm some item, this is the way you can do it.
I loved your idea to put all the menus in a Main Menu button. Thank you so much. I will do this.
About the bug on the shop wtf!! XD I don't know how this happened, I will take a deep look at it.
About your gameplay experience, I am sad that the game did not give you some fun :/
Thank you very much for the feedback and to point the negatives of the game! It´s importante to me to learn!!

Hello @bgillisp @slimmmeiske2 thank you! Sorry about that!
I'm going to change these sprites until tomorow! Thank you very much for helping me.

Based on what I've seen, you really need to go through all of your assets and make sure they can be legally used in a commercial game. You may want to short term take the game down from sale while you address it, as you will want time to look at each and every sprite and image and music file and make sure they are legal to use.

And for the record, using assets from anther game without permission is not legal under international law, which you are under due to selling the game. I know some countries are looser on that, but international law is not. Specifically using those assets puts you in violation of US law specifically that I know of, which makes it illegal to sell your game in the US. There are probably other countries affected too.

So my honest suggestion is to take it off of sale on Steam for now, and go through every single asset one by one. If you don't know where it came from, replace it with something from the RTP that came with the engine, or an artist on here who has an asset listed as free to use commercially (be sure it says that, some artists do NOT want their stuff used in commercial games at all). Once you got every single one replaced, and a proper credit list (and note that many artists want to be in the credits too, and it is required for some to be legally used), then put it back up.

And note you will want to do this. Failure to do this will hurt your reputation as a developer long term. It's already hurt some due to these now being found. You will need to fix it, and do some damage control as well, but if you learn from this you can recover. Also note that failure to do this puts you at risk of having your game DMCA'd by the creator of the assets you used, or the company that holds the rights to it, and if that happens you will be removed from Steam and no longer allowed to sell it or anything else on there again. So you will want to take care of this, and soon.
