Just as the title says, talk about ONE game that was either indie or not very well known and you seriously enjoyed and talk about it, and also name one game that you’d like to play soon.

Try to make sure you use a format like this:

Name of the Game – Author

An image that does not spoil anything about the game

(The following must be put in spoiler tags)

A brief summary of the game

Optional: a song of the game.

(The following must be put in spoiler tags inside the already mentioned spoiler tags)

Your favorite moments of the game, this can include the ending.

(End of the spoiler tags within the spoiler tags)

A conclusion.

A couple quotes.

(End of the spoiler tags)

And finally the name of the game you want to play soon and its author (if known).

Sooo…

I CALL DIBS ON THE FIRST GAME!

OFF – Mortis Ghost

Ahh, OFF. This is probably one of the most disturbing games I’ve ever played, and by Jove, did I ever LOVE IT! It starts off like this:

Someone asks you your name and gender, then tells you that you’re in control of a man known as the batter. The batter is on a mission to purify the world and it is YOUR duty to help him through this, he is your puppet and you have to make sure he accomplishes it. And so, you begin you quest to save the day!

The game itself looks like the bastard child of the MOTHER series and a Suda 51 game, the OST is hauntingly good, LITERALY! The music has yet to leave my mind, ESPECIALY Peper Steak

Now then, this is a good time to stop reading if you have yet to play the game, the best way to play it is by going in blind, only consulting a walkthrough IF you get stuck.

Oh god, oh sweet god! The purified Zones! I didn’t enter any of them until I killed Enoch. I swear I was creeped out by that! I was like "What is THIS?!"
Then there was the meat fountains of Alma in Zone 1! The pedalo, the music and then the way into Dedan’s room.

Japhet’s backstory on the books, I understood and pitied him, he tried to make sure that the citizens of Zone 2 were safe, and he did it, but then they went too far, trying to be absolutely safe to the point of paranoia, I mean, heck! The balloon game’s sign in the park says that due to the loud noises it wasn’t for the faint of heart, and it was just popping balloons! Also, HOW THE HELL DID A WHALE SNEAK UP ON ME!?

The whole shebang of problems of the sugar element. Like Soylent Green, IT’S MADE OUT OF DEAD PEPOLE! And it’s practically a drug, if someone is deprived of sugar, they will have the usual problems of withdrawal and will become a Burnt, speaking of which, shortly after, you fight someone with said problems. This person only has the attack "???", which makes the word HELP appear in front of him, then disappear, lasting longer the more damaged he is.

The entirety of The Room. See, if Tommy Wiseau had made his movie like this, he would have won an Oscar for it! Seeing the Guardians’ past, the fight with The Queen, who is the batter’s wife! And…Hugo...

I found the fight with Hugo, father and son at the same time (buh?!) of the batter and The Queen to be the single most disturbing fight in the entire game. You have the batter kill his own son (and father) in cold blood while he does nothing but use a defend action! YOU CONTROL THE BATTER AS HE BEATS A BABY BOY, HIS OWN SON, TO DEATH WITH A BASEBALL BAT! THAT IS NOT JUST MESSED UP, THAT IS ALL KINDS OF F***ED UP!

And finally…the end…

After all that, just as you are about to reach THE switch, The Judge appears and chews you, not the batter, but YOU, the player, for killing a loving wife and child, committing yourself fully to genocide, and not thinking twice about what you were doing. The batter does not care, and only wants to purify the world. Which means flipping the switch on OFF.

Then you are given the choice of siding with either the batter to end this, or The Judge, to save what’s left of existence. Which would be Zacharie, a paranoid Elsen locked in a saferoom in Zone 2, the secretaries and himself. I picked the later, and saw the batter. Mortis Ghost said that this form was meant to represent the way you and The Judge saw the batter now. A complete monster.

Either way it was all pointless, YOU destroyed the world.

As the credits roll, the song Somewhere Over The Rainbow is played. It seems like it would ruin the mood, and yet it managed to be a perfectly appropriate, solemn ending theme that only managed to increase the effect that it left on me, at which point I broke out crying.

Aaaaand was interrupted by the Space Monkeys.
I hated that nonsensical, ending and don’t even want to talk about it.
This game is a horror game. Not in the sense that you get jumpscared, or try to survive over dwindling resources, or get your SAN points drained bit by bit. No it’s because of all the events that happened being horrible…and so…The switch is now on OFF…

A couple quotes:

"I think the huge frightening ducky has won this round…"

"No desert for you"

"I’m scared…of the dark…"

"Hence nothing remains
except
for our
regrets"

"Queen of the flies, it’s time to join your disciples. It all went wrong. Time to forget about it and dream sweet dreams."

"I am not a god... I cannot be perfect... Yes, I have sinned, I admit it. But my responsibilities are far beyond those of a mere mortal."

"We are a little like gods, drawing the infinite power of the sun to sculpt our worlds into the nothingness. Ahaha, I love that metaphor. Yes, like gods..."

"As the first of four elements...it's an important element.
...Because without smoke, people would have nothing to breathe.
...Because without metal, people would have nothing to walk on. They would sink and drown.
...Because without plastic, the world would have no boundaries. People would walk and walk without ever stopping.
...Because without meat, people would have nothing to eat. They would die of starvation, one after another."

" : ) "

The game I want to play soon is called “Radio the Universe” and is currently in development by 6e6e6e.  Here's the Kickstarter page, check it out!

Just beat the last of us 2 last night and starting jedi: fallen order right now, both use unreal engine & when I say i knew 80% of jedi's buttons right away because they were the same buttons as TLOU2 its ridiculous, even the same narrow hallway crawl and barely-made-it jump they do. Unreal Engine is just big budget RPG Maker the way they make games nearly identical at its core lol.
Can someone recommend some fun story-heavy RPGs to me? Coming up with good gameplay is a nightmare! I was thinking of making some gameplay platforming-based, but that doesn't work well in RPG form*. I also was thinking of removing battles, but that would be too much like OneShot. I don't even know how to make good puzzles!
one bad plugin combo later and one of my followers is moonwalking off the screen on his own... I didn't even more yet on the new map lol.
time for a new avatar :)
