Tall Mack/MV Character Templates

I made these for my own use but thought someone else might be interested as well.
These are tall character templates based on the Looseleaf/Mack character generator from the Vx/VxAce days. If you have an idea on how to improve them, let me know!

Terms of Use:
  • RPG Maker: The battlers and the MV-head template are edited MV RTP, so not available for use outside of RPG Maker.
  • Mack / Loose Leaf: The walking characters are heavily edited Mack / Loose Leaf, whose TOU are translated here.
  • I have no additional terms, but I'd love to see what you make with them.
  • Please direct people to this post instead of reposting the original templates! Unless the links go dead, of course; in that case, share everything, share often. Examples are okay in moderation. Your completed characters are yours to share and use!

Battler templates

You should probably be using Aryeh's Tall Battlers instead of these...
Warning! The side-view weapons will be in the wrong position when you use taller battlers. If you are having trouble getting your side-view weapons to anchor to your taller sprites correctly, read this thread. Users Limonada and ct_bolt have suggestions. You can also edit the native rpg.sprites.js file according to OKIComputer's instructions here.

EDIT April 13th: Finished sprite templates for dark skintones, more variety to come. Possibly child templates as well.

Oh wow! This is just what I needed for my game, thank you so much! (I was actually kinda worried how the MV head would look on top of the Mack sprites, but these look awesome!)

Although, it would be awesome if you could post your process for how you make your characters, that would be awesome too! :kaothx:

Oh, thank you. By characters do you mean these templates, or my example character? Because I've been thinking about doing some sort of tutorial...

I'm not sure I can say anything more substantive than "HAVE THE TEMPLATE AND PAINT ON IT", but I'll have a think once I get some free time.

I updated the adult templates to be slightly Less Weird. The filenames haven't improved...

EDIT July 25th: Updated all templates with minor fixes. Working on an adult template that's a mix of the male and female graphics. With clothes drawn on top, it's unlikely to be noticeable... Looking into more varied body shapes.

If you can perfect these templates, and either convert the generator clothing yourself or get someone else to convert it to match this template, you could actually make a better character generator for mv! I would gladly use an mv character generator based off of these templates rather than the base mv generator! This is seriously awesome! I'm really impressed! And for someone who isn't a pixel artist, you have really outdone yourself! I look forward to seeing more from you!

Oh, gosh. I've thought about making some basic clothing for these, but I don't think attempting all of the generator clothes is realistic with my schedule. So unless someone reports an interest, I think we're all relying on my artistic ability. Ech.

I'm glad you like the templates! I have a few more updates planned before I'm out of ideas.

@Dan; a badger king I have Started a Project called Tall Sprite Maker using your Characters as Tamplates.

The Scope of the Project is to Replace the Default Character Generator in the MV Game Engine by Tall Sprite Maker.

But for that I need you Make SV (Side View) and TVD (Tile View Dead) Tamplate too...

Why I'm aksing you ?
Beacuse Your Tamplate are Good, Tall and have big head, and also you have Color variants of them.

Actually moving my project to tall sprites instead of chibi ones.
I love both, but... tall ones are much more suitable for one of my projects...

I think these templates are great! Thanks for sharing them.

However, some of the images are broken. Any way you could fix them? I would love to add to my resource folder.

finally got this scripted right lol... I was running into a few issues like getting the event to play when all enemies were ko'd, actors going in and out of their victory poses, etc... still need to tweak a bit tho.
Which version should I get? 2000, 2003, XP, VX, VX Ace, or MV. I'm a beginner and have no coding knowledge and also I wanna be able to add voices.
I'm just gonna remove the Dark Spells from my game. They wouldn't be fighting Gods or Angels. So why have it?
Every day I'm getting rough-outs of another sprite sheet or two. Getting real close to just needing to make new original stuff and editing my tables and chairs to look correct for the taller sprites is among the top of the revisions list.
