Hey, I grew up with RPG Maker 2000 and 2003... well, my brother had them and he let me use them, and as you can imagine all I did was some weird games and most likely every single one of them was lost in time, probably for the best lol
I recently have been trying to make an actual, serious game, first with Ace then I switched to MV and there I am, making sprites for it, being extremely confused as to how to use plugins and having a twitter account that I try to update every week so I force myself to never give up but I'm not sure if I can post it or not here so I will not lol.
Anyways, I will most likely visit this place every time I am having trouble (and I am having a lot of trouble every time because I have no idea what I am doing half of the time) so that's it I think.
Also not sure how can I put a profile pic...

I signed up for an account over a year before I posted anything just so I could view a thumbnail picture. Then I signed up for an account on the Japanese forum too just so I could download a plugin.

Welcome and glad you decided to visit more frequently!

A little over a year ago I was in a similar boat except I had never touched a RM version before I bought MZ.

What I found was watching and recreating a LOT of tutorials helped. There are content creators with YouTube channels that have entire series that walk you through the basics to advanced stuff. I searched for a bunch and then just picked one to go through the entire series. I also added things as I thought about them, just to try. Then I did some more that caught my interest.

After that I just started experimenting on stuff I thought of to see if I could get it to work.

Between video tutorials and written tutorials you can learn a lot. And there are a ton of tutorials, resources, and plugins for MV with lots of very helpful people.

And there are people who post in their status feed with links to their Twitter content.

Anyway, good luck and happy game making!

I’m so lucky! Simone got referred to a feline cardiologist and had I not called this morning the moment there was a cancellation the next opening would have been SEVEN months from now! The other heart hospital would have been on the other side of Michigan. Who knew that animal specialty appointments were also terrible to get!?
Scalemail project is one step closer to completion. Ordered scales from a local metalworking company, ordered some split rings... now all I need is to wait. :>
And pray that the split rings will be flexible enough to handle that.

Broke: Actually making the stuff you need to make before the game can progress.
Woke: Wasting time instead by making a sidequest where you can recruit an imaginary friend to the party.
