Temporary Buffs not stopping

Hello,

in my game project im trying to make it so the player goes to a "Diner" and gets a buff to their stats for 10 minutes (have only been doing 1 minute at a time to test) but every time the player leaves or enters an area the buffs keep restarting and adding the bonus stats again, im hoping someone can help me fix this problem.

I'm using RPG Maker MV and i've been trying to perform this job through the Common Events.

What does the event for turning the switch on look like? is it parallel event as well?

no its just a move event that at the end triggers the switch which is linked to the common event, would you like a picture?

Long waits like that won't work in a parallel process event.

so is there a way to put a timer for how long the buffs last?

what you need to change is use conditionbranche to check the timer if it reach zero
then remove buff

It will always work and shut itself down.
You should set it as if buff = on so it can pass.

so do i just call the common event, so it triggers this event to happen? and with this kind of setup it wont keep adding more and more every time a player enters or exits a doorway?

Holy stink, where have I been? Well, I started my temporary job this week. So less time to spend on game design... :(
