Thanks. I tried it and noticed that about the conditional loop too. It works, but there's too much lag on the parallel process and whatever number I use it's the same. It might be that the slowmove state remains that is causing the lag once it wears off, so I'll try that too.

I've also had success with the alternative event from Harusata.

I'll mess around with it a bit more and let you guys know.

Thanks for your help!

@gsuk if changing the number on the wait does not change the behaviour, then either the wait is in the wrong position on the event or the lag is caused by another event and not the one where you change the wait.

Give us a current screenshot of your event and we'll help you checking.

This is my event (i'm using Harusata's at the moment).

You said the length of the wait doesn't matter, but in previous comments it has been said that I should experiment with different length waits.

Whichever event I use, the movement lags after the state has worn off, then is ok again after leaving/returning to the map.

You misread what I said - I didn't say that the length of the wait doesn't matter, I said that if a change in the length does not change the effect, then the wait is either at the wrong position or the lag or problem is caused by another event.

in this case the lag has to be from something else, that event is correct - not the same way as I would write it but it should work correctly. The "remove state slowmove" in the branch is useless however, because that branch can only be active if the state is already removed from the player.

OK. I'll remove the 'remove state' from there then. was just there for insurance.

I don't see what else could slow it down - the same things that are running before are running after. i even tried it on a nearly empty map (just cos it was easier to test) and the same thing happened.

FYI - your event worked just as well, I just wanted to try the other one to see if it was better so that's the one that i used last :)

the key here is
I don't see what else
That is the biggest problem that makes bughunting such a pain - there is a cause but very often it is overlooked by the developer and only found after hours and hours of searching.
That is because everything on the computer has a cause, there is no randomness in it (not even the random generators are truly random). You might want to follow the link to bughunting in my signature - it will not tell you where the problem is caused (because no tutorial can do that), but it does contain a lot of background info that might help in the search.

I'll do that.

Thanks for your help. I'll be posting new problems for sure very soon, so might hear from you again!

Hello! I would like to know if there are any pluggings or any way to customize how battles look?
I was thinking that when you start the battle for it to appear the eyes of your characters and opponents sorta like Ace Attorney.
Sadly I don't know how that would be possible so I would be needing help! If you can help me in any way I would really apreciate it!
