Hello,

I copied some of the paid DLCs and maybe also user created content into by NewData folder to have it already available in newly created MV projects.
This causes a problem if I have ever to provide an almost empty test project for some reason.
How do I know which files I am allowed to include and which ones I am not allowed to include?

Should I just delete everything from the audio and img folders that isn't really used in my project and change everything in the database that uses data from the audio folders to be silent?

Should I de- and reinstall MV?

Please give me an advice!!!

there is a reason why not even the RTP was fully into the newdata folder (there are more resources available in RTP than only the newdata, exactly to prevent such a mass....

especially as it makes no sense - all the editor does is copy everything on creation of a new project - if you copy a project manually you do the same.

So make your own "Base projects" by creating new projects, then copy everything in that you want in that base (like one base for SF, one for fantasy, one almost empty, one with the full default database (from NewData_FantasyEN) and so on, always keeping track of the credits and what you copied there with a textfile holding the credits, because you cannot distribute any resource without containing the correct credits.

If you want to save your current NewData status, simply make a new project. If you don't know what is in there then most likely you messed up the credits already - in that case I suggest ignoring the current newdata and start anew.

after that, simpy deinstall MV, delete its folder (the deinstaller will probably not remove added files) and then reinstall it to get a clean NewData folder. after that, only use project copies if you want to create new base project.

I've now reinstalled MV only saving the Generator folder. The installer already added files named SF_... to my NewData folder.
Is it save to include these files in TestProjects or should I remove them before I upload them anywhere?

Also I thought I selected english this time as the installation language, but still everything is german. I cannot provide screenshots or test projects if most of the people won't understand them.
Translating all texts in database is much work to do. But I guess I can do it once and then just copy the project like you've adviced me to do.

Thanks for the advice!!!

you can change the anguage either by steam program properties or by creating a file for the language setting - search the forum, I don't know at the moment how that file has to be named.

Some SF-files are included because the< are needed in the default tilesets - if you remove those tilesets you don't need them. most of the SF images are only in the program folder and not automatically added.

Thank you for the answer.
If I now upload a test project for e.g. a plugin somewhere, that contains only the NewData from a newly installed RMMV do I have to credit
KADOKAWA or DEGICA for this?

Holy stink, where have I been? Well, I started my temporary job this week. So less time to spend on game design... :(
Cartoonier cloud cover that better fits the art style, as well as (slightly) improved blending/fading... fading clouds when there are larger patterns is still somewhat abrupt for some reason.
