Text box arrows?

I want to make road signs to guide the player, but rather than saying "east is this" or "west is that" is there a way I can input arrow directions, like how Pokemon and Zelda had?

if you wanted to take it a step further i'm sure you could make actual icons for the icon spritesheet and use a plugin like this one

they call them alt codes because you hold down alt + number pad keys to make special symbols.

but i'm too lazy to memorize them all, so i just copy and paste.
