I have experienced in both on my old laptop that uses windows 7 and the new one that uses 8.1... I just try to live with it as I can't seem to find a viable fix... The preview option works fine for me, so I just use it whenever I put a text on the text box to see if it fits or not.

So is there really no way to get an accurate sense of what is and what isn't getting cut off?

None that I know of, though as far as I remember, when I use a font size like 18 I think or something, it seems to work just like how it was meant to be..

I think I've found a solution, though not a particularly elegant one. From what I can tell the preview is trustworthy, so if I use it to check the text as I go along, and wait to insert the escape command for the speaker's name until after everything else is ready, I can at least avoid having to resort to playtesting.

That is what I said on my first reply, which is on top of this 2nd page...

The preview option works fine for me, so I just use it whenever I put a text on the text box to see if it fits or not.

Oh, so you did. That was stupid of me. The name thing was throwing me off, I guess. I only today figured out what "Batch Entry" meant, so for a while the text box kept eating my last line when i hit Enter.

Batch entry makes it easier to type in walls of text for the same character, with or without faces, without having to hit the 'show text' command several times.

so hopefully tomorrow i get to go home from the hospital i've been here for 5 days already and it's driving me mad. I miss my family like crazy but at least I get to use my own toiletries and my own clothes. My mom is coming to visit soon i can't wait to see her cause i miss her the most. :kaojoy:
Couple hours of work. Might use in my game as a secret find or something. Not sure. Fancy though no? :D
Holy stink, where have I been? Well, I started my temporary job this week. So less time to spend on game design... :(
Cartoonier cloud cover that better fits the art style, as well as (slightly) improved blending/fading... fading clouds when there are larger patterns is still somewhat abrupt for some reason.
