We have seen a lot of weird stuff since Covid became a part of our lives. Many of us take precautions and going out becomes difficult. Covid is scary as you do not know how it will affect you or your friends and family especially those at risk for serious complications even death. My brother and I have not seen our parents since last December 2019. Still there good things happening too. So I thought maybe we should focus on what we are thankful for even though technically its not Thanksgiving. So feel free to share those things so we call all focus on the positive and not the many negatives. I will start.

I am very thankful my family is healthy and so are many of my friends. I still am able to work and have not gotten real sick. My dad and mom are in that risky group especially my dad but so far they are ok and my dad is getting his last shot very soon. I share a nice condo with my brother and our two cats. Its been rough staying home but we can still call our folks and stay in contact with friends. I hope you all and your families are well too. :)

I'm grateful for my doggo and his endlessly positive energy and boundless unconditional love. I have very little in this world, almost nothing, almost no one, I'm disabled, I'm poor, I'm very isolated, lonely, and alone but that little furry creature lets me get through the days somehow.

I know how you feel. Currently have two cats and look forward seeing them everyday. Best stress reliever ever. :)

There's a certain streamer that is so very kind to me and shares similar health issues, so attending his streams when I can makes me feel nice. He learned of me needing life saving surgery and told me that if I ever made a funding thing he'd link on his channel - I literally cried. I am actually not used to kindness my way, so the fact that a virtual stranger wanted to help me in this way really restore my faith in humanity. :'3 Thank stars for people like that kind soul.

That's awesome. Good to know of kind people out there. I truly believe more kind people exist than those that want to do harm or take advantage of us. Thanks for sharing :)

I used to believe this, but I have experienced much differently in my life especially towards my friends that I protect. Most people have meant ill than good. It really changes your outlook when your friends and you have been so long targeted by the worst of humanity. Perhaps we just have crap luck. lol

Good you protect them. I feel the same way. Right now in our country the underlying evil has been exposed and it will make you think good no longer exists. But the problem is the good never makes the news. When I read the news I only see everything that's wrong with the world. But if you take all the terrible events in the world and weigh them against the total population you can see that good outweighs bad. However in your area there may be more bad people than good. Like in Chicago with all the gangs always fighting over territory and killings happening continually.

Most of my immediate family stayed at home a lot pre-pandemic anyway, so luckily we haven't had to adjust much. I'm very thankful to have them around.

Managed to keep my jorb throughout the pandemic, so that's a score in my book. I feel humbled that I haven't had to deal with unemployment or any of the worst case scenarios as a result.

@Former_Sky True. I watched many people get laid off. Some did excellent jobs and one guy had 40years with the company. When they did the furloughs on us in October 2020 I was scared. Fortunately we all made it aside from one who was about to retire and they just got rid of him early. Hopefully now with the vaccine rollout we can see these layoffs and furloughs come to an end. I know for some poorer nations getting the vaccine is near impossible. My friend in the Philippines is going thru another lockdown. Even her parents cannot get the vaccine though. Sad.

2020 was pretty bad. seeing cousins and friends falling out to rona, folks losing jobs and having to use their skills to pay the bills (or retire early and live off a pittance) and just all around whackness. I was affected too, having lost my job and house, then catching (and recovering) from the rona.

well now, in two weeks will be a year since i walked out those hospital doors with nothing but my first ever top of the line laptop (that i got with the first stimmy) and hope, using my new lease on life being productive. within that year of hard work and determination, i'm getting a new house and will soon be releasing some games. My health now still isn't so great (i can't smell or taste anything at all! it still hasn't come back :( gall bladder on the fritz on top of my usual woes - crippling arthritis and degenerative bone disease) but while i'm still able to type, draw and get around, i'm just hunkering down and focusing my all in game dev. it's all i have left. dev keeps me sane. that's how i spend 18 hours of my days since i hardly step outside anymore.

I want to give thanks to the little acts of kindness we give and receive every day. Over my 22 1/2 years of mere life, I've learned the most happiness anyone feels is when someone knows they're cared for. Not just by other humans, but by animals too! While I was at therapy camp for PTSD, I befriended a stray cat who came to check on my every evening. I'd bring her something to eat sometimes, and I'd also give her pets.
Caring is the reason my ex-boyfriend and I are still friends. Yes, the fire alarm technician. We didn't totally break up, and he still texts me! I will always confide my feelings in him because we both have Autism, and really understand each other. No matter what's happened, I'll always feel happy seeing his texts saying everything will be okay.
I am also very grateful for the ways I've helped others. Giving does feel even better than receiving! I love to lend a hand just to see people happy. And it makes me happy just to help! I even want to start a new TikTok challenge called the Random Act of Kindness challenge. The main rule is "Don't do it for the clout, do it because it's right!" Considering how many dangerous challenges arise on TikTok, this would be a nice change of pace. Something that benefits everyone!
So remember, peeps... be kind, be safe, and wear a mask!
