Description of the feature:
  • Somewhere in the settings, you should be able to move the map list and/or the tileset box to the other side of the window.
  • Remember, It'd be an option. Means that if you prefer both on the same side, you can still have them there.

Code for implementation:

Not a programmer.

Mockups:
Mockup.png

Why is this feature good?
  • You could have a window-height map list without sacrificing tile access.
  • In fact, you'd have the entire tileset visible if you moved one to the other side. (And your window was maximized, unlike in the mockup.)

Possible issues with this feature?
  • Uh... Maybe you might uh... get lost in all your maps? But then again, wouldn't you get lost if you need to scroll through them?

P.S. The image is my test project, just in case you for some reason want to know.

better add "pin" button. Because it's kind of messy to have them all.

May I add a suggestion to this as well? Can we also make it so that we can make the map/tileset windows wider or narrower? Or have them floating (instead of locked to a side)? I can think of a lot of situations where that would be very useful. :D

@izyCoder Sorry, I don't understand what you're trying to say. Could you please clarify?

@ashikai Yes yes yes. But for changing the width of the tileset window, it would need to "resize" the tiles. It's pretty obvious that they'd need to do that, but may I suggest that it "snap" at 67% and 100% size? Because my notOCD would kill me if just one pixel was stretched/missing just from it being 101% or 99%.

@Nutty171 I'm game for that. I was more thinking of it for the map window since sometimes the names + indenting can get kinda long. The tileset window I was more thinking it'd just get a horizontal scrollbar if you made it smaller. I suppose that part doesn't matter much though. :p

The button to pin and unpin the windows, you never heard? Just like in visual studio windows. Or in ms word, there is at upper right before "?" symbol.

@izyCoder Oh, okay. Sorry. What I had in mind was just a toggle to just switch the side of the window the tileset/map windows are. But yes, being able to move them around freely and pin them is a good idea.

Huh, now that you bring this up, it seems really strange to me that this feature isn't already part of the program. Definitely agree with you, this option would be really useful. I voted Yes!

I'm 100% game for having more control in the editor, especially since I prefer having multi monitor setup, and being able to move things to the other monitor for quality of life and ease of use.

I would like this feature as well. Right now I am using a 3440x1440 monitor and I would like to have the ability to show all the tiles at once ideally if possible the way they are on the source image for finer control. My other request would be to have the ability to enlarge the tile selection. They are hard to see in a screen this large.

I'm astonished that this isn't a native feature in a product that was released post 2013 to be quite honest! This is the only program I use
that doesn't let the user rearrange and dock/redock windows. It's not that important to me but it is weird it didn't release with such a
feature.

Couple hours of work. Might use in my game as a secret find or something. Not sure. Fancy though no? :D
Holy stink, where have I been? Well, I started my temporary job this week. So less time to spend on game design... :(
Cartoonier cloud cover that better fits the art style, as well as (slightly) improved blending/fading... fading clouds when there are larger patterns is still somewhat abrupt for some reason.
