The best RTP Music (XP, VX, or VXACE)

So, which one do you think the best? 

Here's mine :

1) RPG maker XP : It may sound old, but I like the tunes and it's the best RTP music ever. Some of them are memorable, emotional, and would fit enough in Medieval games.

2) RPG Maker VX ACE : So, the genre is more varied now. And the battle music is too techno-ish. (Something that I don't like, except "Battle9"). The VX ACE RTP music would be good for futuristic games. 

3) RPG Maker VX : I think this is the worst of the three. The tracks are uninspired. Especially for the dungeon and battle theme.

I'm a huge fan of VXAce since it's closer to my JRPG tastes. XP can sound too WRPG for me.

Ace is the best out of the given choices, whereas XP has its moments. VX is kind of that slow brother nobody really likes, but has a bright moment or two.

But no love for 2k3?

Personally I love the XP RTP music, but like Archeia mentioned in her post, maybe it's because I actually AM a fan of western rpgs over Japanese ones.

I've always had a soft spot for XP's music. That 64-track selection can be quite something at times ( most, but not all ). But there are a number of Ace's stuff that I like too ( 2nd battle track ,real techno, but fun and Dungeon 5 ). VX's battle tracks sounds like something out of the 80s. 0_o

In my mind the DS music counts as RTP, and it's my favorite of the music. A lot of it reminds me strongly of all my favorite RPG soundtracks from my childhood in a very good way.

I myself prefer XP because I like the way the melody sounds. I like Ace too, but it hasn't grown on me as much as XP. Plus XP, to me, has a more memorable soundtrack.

Great topic.  I really enjoy XP's music, but I would give VX Ace a very close second.  I though the regular VX music was poorly composed...reminded me of some of the old RM95+ and RM2k's weaker pieces.

I remember when the full version of Ace came out, I sat my little brother down with, opened up XP, VX and Ace then listened to every track from each engine. My word VX was HORRIBLE. XP and Ace had a tough battle, but XP won over Ace from it's non battle tracks. Maybe it's nostalgia but some of the songs from XP almost made me tear up a little~

I know I already said I like XP the most, but I feel that the DS RTP soundtrack has some really amazing stuff in it too.

Ah, my guess is right. Nobody would vote for RPG Maker VX. 

So, it's a tie between XP and VX ACE.

I forgot to mention the size, VX ACE RTP uses OGG, which will increase your game size (in case you don't include RTP), that's another reason I prefer XP music.. Sometimes, my friends who don't use RPG Maker VXACE will say : "why is the game size so big for a 2D game?" lol.
