What does a "sketch" really mean?

Is it just a rough draft of something?

Some of you guys can pull out a "sketch" in just 30 minutes that looks like a finished painting?

I'm afraid I'm out of the league with my pen and pencil and nothing else. I can't even color to save my life.

But this is a fun thread to watch.

It's whatever gets done in 30 minutes. Some people get a little done and others a lot. Those who do what looks like a finished piece probably had lots of practice to get to that point, and you can too.

Just think of it as something fun to do and a way to challenge yourself to learn and practice new things.

This was the first thing that came to mind for me

It feels really hipster-y I'm sorry guys I don't even know where I was going with this. I unfortunately saved the hands for last, and ran out of time to go back to them and actually try to finish them off

(Also wow screw ears at this angle! What even happens to them???)

I love seeing what everyone else is doing though, oh my gosh ;w; It's really fun to see how these inspire everyone differently! Great job everyone. :>

OMG! I actually had time to sketch before work

Dance Party?

...Dance Party

Inspiration? I dunno. The heart and guitar made me think DANCING! Then the bronze-ish gears and clock and roman numerals and stuff made me think ancient.

This is my first shot at a full [sort of full] figure. I didn't have time to work on the hands or face... but I'll file this away under "WIP" in my rolodex.
