I have been using RPG Maker VX Ace for many years but just recently I've been trying to finally put in work to finish my projects I started years prior. I've looked up tutorials and looked through forums in the past but I'm still not exactly sure on this. I've seen that there seem to be major differences between the programs. When I attempt to find something out about RPG Maker VX Ace, a lot of the things I want to do can only be done with RPG Maker MV. So my question is, what exactly are the differences between the programs or at the very least what is the difference between RPG Maker VX Ace and RPG Maker MV?

also MV uses plugins while VXAce uses script, so alot is edit in the script,
compare to MV using Plugins, they use the params, and or plugin commands/script calls to get them work.
there are some things in MV that cant be done in VXA though or misses the options but need plugins
to get it to work.

If you update to MV, you might get alot of loss and need due loss of script remade/ported and alot of changes
in the way it will be function again. So think carefully if you want it to MV or finish it in VXAce
especially if its almost to the end or halfway finished.

Adding to the list
  • You can't use MIDI in MV.
  • I'm surprised that no one mention about portability (Web, mobile, desktop, Mac, etc ...).

Couple hours of work. Might use in my game as a secret find or something. Not sure. Fancy though no? :D
Holy stink, where have I been? Well, I started my temporary job this week. So less time to spend on game design... :(
Cartoonier cloud cover that better fits the art style, as well as (slightly) improved blending/fading... fading clouds when there are larger patterns is still somewhat abrupt for some reason.
Do you Find Tilesetting or Looking for Tilesets/Plugins more fun? Personally I like making my tileset for my Game (Cretaceous Park TM) xD
How many parameters is 'too many'??
