Okay I think now I get it.
No, the animation.json does not add anything to the animation themselves. All it does is allow for users who are not familiar with making their own animations within the Database to be able to copy/paste the animation as shown here in the preview. If you have a solid understanding of how to use different animation sheets within the Maker through the Database, then you're not missing out on anything even if you don't have the animations.json.
Since I don't have VX Ace's equivalent of MV's animations.json, VX Ace users will have to manually set their own animations through the Database. I don't know if VX Ace has the same blending modes as MV, but since you are using the same animation sheets independent of the program, the visual effect should theoretically be the same.
If you need assistance on how to go about implementing my animation sheets into VX Ace, I'm going to have to ask you to ask the question elsewhere, since I would prefer to keep this post focused on releases.
