I like the idea of the game but you have several issues!

Bug: In the 3rd map when I try to talk to Daniel it says unknown file and the game closes.

Mapping: You use a lot of the same tiles/items and it looks very plain.

The Shadows on some of the buildings/cliffs/trees are disproportioned.

The first cave you come to seems a little pointless, It would be nice if you added a side plot or something there (some sort of obstacle) also you can pretty much just walk straight through the cave as of now, It would be nice if it were a little more maze like.

In the second cave you come to a mirror and it says

A broken mirror?

A Hole! what should I do?

The options are yes and no.. (This doesn't make sense)

If you press it says "nothing in it" Which also doesn't make sense

I feel like the flow needs a bit of work too, its a good start and I hope this helps!

EDIT: I played for a while longer and found another bug..

When I leave the cave after writing down the message I went back to the shop. After speaking to Ellis I go back into the cave and once I flip the switch it teleports me out and I'm stuck in a wall.

Just to help you see what I mean, I have done a very fast (4 min) sample map as an alternative to your Forest Way.  I have used the same tiles you did, and kept the map to the same overall size and direction of travel.  But I'd like to think that it is a more interesting map for the player to see.  You will also be able to see at the entrance what I meant when I said about moving the 2 trees up a tile so that they stay the same size of the other trees, and give you an indent in the shape.

Holy stink, where have I been? Well, I started my temporary job this week. So less time to spend on game design... :(
Cartoonier cloud cover that better fits the art style, as well as (slightly) improved blending/fading... fading clouds when there are larger patterns is still somewhat abrupt for some reason.
Do you Find Tilesetting or Looking for Tilesets/Plugins more fun? Personally I like making my tileset for my Game (Cretaceous Park TM) xD
