Yes please! Really appreciate your feedback.

Yes, itch.io is the most up to date version.

Hope you enjoy it :)
Sad news I'm afraid...

- I visited https://ihavenoskin.itch.io/the-journey-to-medulla
- I scrolled down and downloaded the JTM Windows Demo1.5 ZIP.
- After download I tried to unpack using PeaZip but every time i try, Pea Zip crashes.
- I downloaded 2 more times, but the same thing happens..

Are you able to unzip the file from your side?

I don't have any issues unzipping any other files, just your game.

Will wait to hear from you.

Oh, how annoying, sorry about that!

I can't test on Windows but haven't seen this issue before. I downloaded and unpackaged both on my Mac.

I can get it tested on Windows tonight as my brother maybe able to help in a few hours time. Very strange.

There is a version here on dropbox: https://www.dropbox.com/sh/zwy9wd249w26odn/AAAiH8dlllEArqocqqSxeANxa?dl=0
It's zipped but I wonder if that works better?
If not I'll upload an un-zipped folder once you write back. EDIT: I don't seem to be able to upload unzipped on Dropbox... Argh. Let me know how it goes... Thanks!

If anyone else sees this message then please try Itch first as I prefer to know how many downloads etc.

Nope -- the dropbox link also crashes Peazip..

It's just this game that does it, never had Peazip crash trying to unzip anything before.. tried like 10 times.

Oh how strange! Do you have any other zip application? Sorry to ask but I haven't had any other issues on Windows and I can't test this myself... I don't know if anyone else can try?

Sorry to be a pain and so difficult.

I can't upload an unzipped file to dropbox which is a pain. Maybe email as the game is only 250MB or so... ?

I download and unzip files every day. So I really don’t think it’s the program!

Most likely that the program you used to zip the file hasn’t done it correctly for windows computers.

With that in mind, how about asking a friend who has windows to see if they can unzip it?

Hi, thanks mate. I’ve asked my brother in UK to try so hopefully will hear back soon. I zipped on Mac so maybe there is a compatibility issue with version 1.5... if so I’ll reupload and fingers crossed!

Thanks again!

EDIT - My brother downloaded and unzipped and played with no problems.

Are you using Windows 7? Someone else had a problem playing... but not unzipping... so WEIRD!

Thanks for trying and sending this feedback, it’s much appreciated.

I’m not sure what to do... maybe I’ll winzip tomorrow or something, or I can try to find about how to upload somewhere with no zip at all... I’ll confirm tomorrow night!

Either that or you can ask your uk brother to try unzipping with pea zip and see if he experiences the same problems?

What is your brother using to unzip?

FYI I am using windows 10.

Hello!

It's been a while since I've posted however that's because I've been working hard on the game!

So Comicon will be in April, I'm still trying to figure out what build to take, last time at Gamescon I took basically the Demo (on Itch, Download it here: https://ihavenoskin.itch.io/the-journey-to-medulla ) all the way up until you race the train on the Pomeranian... This time I'll let people try the race out and play on from there... maybe...

Anyway, I've come up with the idea of having a dungeon segment to the game, however, I hate Zubats (lol) and random encounters (which I've taken out of my game!) so I wanted to do something a bit different.

So each dungeon has a theme, one is a giant forest inside the dungeon (the game explains how) and the other is an aquarium! The last dungeon will be a massive kitchen :) I know this seems very random, however, I wanted to add elemental attacks based on the classic, green, blue and red plus the dungeons are part of a complex village of monks who protect the local school of mountain magic!

Take a look and let me know what you think :) (I've added below)

Hello
Hope you are well.
I've been lucky enough to have some Let's Play - YouTubers review the game! It's been a great experience.
However, I've fixed a few graphical issues, minor balance issues, spelling and typo errors and a few minor things.
Also - I had a request for a Linux version, I've uploaded this for anyone, however, I don't have a way of testing on Linux and so I can't say for sure if it will work. Let me know if it does!
The demo is now updated to 1.6 and can be found here: https://ihavenoskin.itch.io/the-journey-to-medulla

Try the game and see what you think :)

Here is another episode of me speed mapping the game!

It's yet another big square room which is generally a no-no, but it's also a grand entrance room so I had no choice lol

Check it out here:

Hello!

It's screenshot time!

I haven't posted some for a while, but you can see a lot in the latest mapping videos.

Anyhow, enjoy the below and let me know what you think.

The premise of the screenshots is that our heroes enter the school of mountain magic and have to take certain classes to learn things about the journey.

1) The history classroom - I decided to have a museum feel to the history class so you can take a look at different pictures and learn the history of the JTM world.

2) The School Canteen - what school would be complete without a canteen to hang out in! The screenshots don't have many people in, however, in the game, they will be full of other students to interact with!

2) The School Library - The library will be a hub of information. I'll add a quest or two in here to earn some cash or some skills!

2) The School Playground - The screenshot doesn't have any other children in yet however, I'll work out a little football mini-game hopefully...

Hello

I hope someone finds this useful!

In my game 'The Journey to Medulla' I use character sprites as battlers, I do this by using this plugin: http://sumrndm.site/walk-character-battlers/

To go with this, I've created my own battle backgrounds; this is so you feel immersed in the map (along with on-screen enemies) and the game doesn't feel too broken up by different styles of graphics.

Using this simple method you can make any map feel more 'Side View', but incorporate elements from your existing maps!

If you like the look of my game, please try out the demo here: https://ihavenoskin.itch.io/the-journey-to-medulla

Also, why not like and subscribe!

The music you can hear is a spooky version of 'Zombie', a song my brother wrote and we used to play in my old band!

Let me know what you think, and if you try it out or have any questions let me know!

LET'S PLAY BY ECHO607!
Hello!

I'm so happy to have a let's play from YouTubes most talented and popular RPG Maker YouTuber - Echo607!

It's been a fantastic experience, and she is currently doing a little series of Let's Plays of my game!

In case you don't know, Echo607 has almost 30K subscribers and is a popular choice of video tutorials on RPG Maker. Not only that, but she has an extensive list of quality games focusing on the Gaia's Melody world.

In particular, she recently released: Gaia's Melody: Echoed Melodies on Steam and Itch.io to rave reviews. Her work is amazing, all hand drawn and fully customized, and the writing is dramatic and heartfelt.

Anyway, without further ado - Here is the first Let's Play (I'll post the rest here too):

ANNOUNCEMENT! RELEASE DATE: 25TH OCTOBER!!!

So finally the day will arrive! After 15 months of hard work and learning, my first game, The Journey to Medulla will be released for free on Itch.io on the 25th of October.

It's been an amazing experience, I've had made some great relationships and got myself involved in not only the RPG Maker Community but also the independent video game scene, won an award at GamesCon Middles east and had my game LP'd on Youtube!

Its been a great journey and thanks to anyone who has been involved, played the game or offered any support.

The game will be 100% free, I've used a lot of graphics which were free and since it's my first game it doesn't feel right to charge this time around.

I hope anyone who plays this game enjoys it, think of it as a gift from me to you and please give it a try! I'd love to hear any feedback you might have and let me know if you find any bugs!

The game is being tested, I've played through on Mac and it's been completed on Windows by my brother. We don't have any major bugs at all, to be honest it could be released now but I'm going to leave it a little longer in case either of the other two people testing find any issues!

Thanks a lot if you are reading this! Please accept my gift of this game!

Kind regards
Ihavenoskin

Well the day is finally here! The Journey to Medulla can be taken by anyone with a Mac, Windows or Linux computer for free! It's been a fantastic 18 months working on this project and I thank everyone who has helped me learn this new craft.

The full free game can be downloaded here:

https://ihavenoskin.itch.io/the-journey-to-medulla

This game is free of charge and dedicated to anyone who downloads it. I want people to share this experience with me and I don't expect anything in return! HOWEVER, if you can leave a comment, a rating or follow me on any social media (Ihavenoskin) then that would be a great bonus.

I hope you enjoy this game, I'm very proud of it!

I'll be at GamesCon Middle East on the 25th - 27th of October in Abu Dhabi showing off my newly launched game.

Good luck with whatever you are doing and I hope you have fun on the Journey to Medulla

yours sincerely,

Ihavenoskin
