I was there when internet became 'a thing' (man I'm getting old :headshake::guffaw:) and thus have seen many forum come and go over the years. Never did I join one though. I would look around for a while and see that the moderators either couldn't or wouldn't keep up... a lot of those places sadly turned into troll-feeding-grounds as a result...

Then, very recently, I stumbled across this place. I looked for a while and saw something surprising...
I saw a forum that had logical and reasonable rules that were enforced by moderators who stepped up when they had to.
So I joined...

Now this might not mean much from someone who only joined 12 days ago but in the time that I've been a member I've been on here a few hours everyday...
I'm amazed at how well the moderators run this place!
Always quick to respond, to enforce the rules... always kind and fair (though some are more friendly and others more direct, which is fine)...
Always on top of things....

So there is something I want to say;

Thank you!
Thank you for making this place fun, creative, productive and safe!
Thank you for being on top of things and being the best moderators I've encountered!
Thank you for sacrificing so much of your free time to do all this!

Keep up the amazing work you guys do :cutesmile::cutesmile:

Well this is the official company forum after all. The rest were mostly fan-made forum.
Anyway, welcome!

(Should have been in introduction forum or something, but ok)

@TheoAllen I've seen official forums run worse then this one. That's kinda my point... The moderators here do an amazing job.

I'm not a moderator here but I am a moderator somewhere else and I'd like to say that its pretty rare to see posts like this so when someone does post, it really means a lot. :)

Agreed that the mods around here do a pretty good job, and they put in a LOT of hard work to keep the discussions running smoothly. It's always nice to call people out for a job well done, too, so I love that you posted this.

With that being said, I am looking forward SO MUCH to the post appearing in this topic with bold blue text that tells you "Moved this thread to Site Feedback [or General Lounge]. Please post your topics in the correct forum next time. Thank you." It's only a matter of time before this happens, and the amount of delicious irony this holds on a meta level is just... *mimes an exaggerated kiss*.

Ah. I'm just gonna marinate in this for a few minutes...

:MV3:

...OK. I think I'm done. :kaojoy:

You mean this one?

I've moved this thread to Site Feedback. Please be sure to post your threads in the correct forum next time. Thank you.

:p

@Finnuval Thanks though, we do appreciate hearing it. We more often hear from those who very angrily do not share your views of us, so it's always nice to know that there are those who appreciate what we do.

Indeed, they do an excellent work.
When you consider that they are volunteers from all over the globe, it's a fine team that we can be lucky to have here. :thumbsup-right:

I've been a user for a little over 5 years now on the site; I can say what truly separates this forum for me is the level of moderation it employs; things are kept in order and they do their best within their "power" to keep things in that order, protect us as users and look out for the "maker" name. The forum is kept in order for our benefit, if it wasn't it wouldn't nearly be the place it was today in my opinion (look how easy it is for a fan forum/community or facebook group to devolve or grow out of control).

Sure its an official site and it needs that of course but getting that practically is another thing entirely. They've done that though and they were clever to look for people who are truly passionate about the community rather than just "random hires"; the mods do what they do because they love this "place" and its community, I've no doubt of that.

Oh man, I love this thread. We really do get a lot of hate, it's nice to hear something different, even nicer to have it be so positive and promote others to also respond positively.

The quality moderation is probably the biggest reasons why I joined this community in the first place. As an artist, how a community treats other artists, especially in the relm of copyright infringement, is a really big deal to me. Because of the firm rules and the real respect artists got here I felt safe posting my work. A lot of times either no one cares, people who want to keep their rights get ganged up on, or copyright only counts if you're not a professional. It was a really pleasant change, especially since my last experience with an RM community years and years ago was very different. Being asked to join as a moderator was a honor. Working alongside these wonderful people has only reinforced my respect for every single one. We're a surprisingly diverse group from all over the world and with wildly different political views, religious beliefs (including no religion), and so on, but we have in common a . . . how do I put this? Reasonability, I guess is the word. We see people as people first. We give others the benefit of the doubt and have a huge desire to help everyone become their best self. None of us want to put up with selfish nonsense. This defining element doesn't seem to be sought out when looking for new moderators, it just seems to happen organically because of the type of user that is looked for, a level headed, helpful and active member. I'm just really honored to be a part of it. Everyone is quite awesome.

I will have to agree with the OP, the MODS on this site don't make me want to RIP MY HAIR OUT and scream at the screen. I have been on other official sites that the MODS are worse than trolls. The rules are very common sense and really not hard to follow, even posted for all to see. I can't always say I completely agree with every decision, but they're really nice about it. Deescalation is very important in enforcing rules.

KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK!!!

It's not really surprising, we don't always completely agree either. There's also a lot of behind the scenes stuff that you guys never see, PM's of all sorts, reports, long term history that colors the narrative that you might not have been there for or happened elsewhere on the site in a place you don't follow, and even one time a very stalkery phone call to an unlisted number. We'll appear to be doing things out of the blue, but actually it's very reasonable with proper context.

@Finnuval, Thank you for creating this thread. This is a great idea to show appreciation for the moderators. I study the HTML and CSS; it is very hard and time-consuming process to make a web site ran smoothly without crashing. I am related to them and sympathize.

I also wanted to thank the admins, mods, and all other staffs (as well as this lovely community) myself as well. They tend to resolve things quickly here. Also, they engage with the community as a normal human being not just some "robo" or "stiff". This forum out of all the development/official forums I've been in has been the least toxic (heck it's non-toxic!) of all thanks to the admins, mods, and other staffs for dedicating their precious times in helping. I'll admit that the reason why I've left other "official forums" or simply not join is because of what I see there. I'm often scared or sometimes even angered by what I see. (Like if I talk, somebody's going to fight or bite my head off. o.o' (They just tend to dumb you down often times making you feel like you're stupid.)) But here it's different, people don't make you think you're stupid. You made a minor mistake, you'll just get a warning not a full page scolding and copy and pastes telling you that you didn't read the rules. You get treated like a normal human being that made a simple mistake. (I'm usually cautious not to break any rules anyways..... I have a fear of being banned or punished. I'm too pure sometimes. >_<')

I've also found a lot of help here easily thanks to the organizing of the topics by staffs. I usually don't have to look far to get the answer I need and if I just ask, usually someone would quickly step in to help even if I (or someone else asking something similar) asks for help or if they just need someone to talk about certain things.

This is the best official community ever thanks to not only the admins, mods, and other staffs but also thanks to this community who's willing to help a fellow struggling member or simply to be there for them when they need someone to talk to. We need more communities like RMW out there. :) ♥

Holy stink, where have I been? Well, I started my temporary job this week. So less time to spend on game design... :(
Cartoonier cloud cover that better fits the art style, as well as (slightly) improved blending/fading... fading clouds when there are larger patterns is still somewhat abrupt for some reason.

Back in action to develop the indie game that has been long overdue... Final Fallacy. A game that keeps on giving! The development never ends as the developer thinks to be the smart cookie by coming back and beginning by saying... "Oh bother, this indie game has been long overdue..." How could one resist such? No-one c
