Time and place for chili (lol, meant chibi but the typo is a little funny), but it does cause a lot of "mood dissonance" if you're not telling a particularly cute story.
There actually really is a time and place for chili lol. If you eat chili just out of a bowl in public it seems weird. Add it to a burger or hot dog? Seems more normal. Chili just seems to be one of those foods you never really eat in public though >.>

Iunno I bring chili to work all the time because you can make the most stupidly sized pot of it for cheap and I rarely get sick of it during the week ‘cause of all those sweet toppings you can add.

I’ve never brought chibi sprites to work tho.

I dunno I'm fine with the Chibis. So long they make them actually look cute and not uggo as heck. And maybe have easy options for taller sprites certainly wouldn't hurt.

It should definitely be the other way around. They should have normal, "tall" sprites, and then maybe have an option for chibi sprites.

How many games out of all the games that have ever existed have used chibi sprites outside rpg maker? Like a handfull? And even less of those were popular. Chibi sprites just aren't popular amongst almost anyone, and are a dead giveaway it's an rpg maker game...which usually has a stigma...and for good reason.

Hello, I would like to present myself.
Okay, but the custom sprites and stuff you have on the game linked in your signature are good~

Like over half of the rpgs released before the N64/Playstation, and atleast half of those on gameboy/DS. Pokemon had chibi sprites up until Sun/Moon. It's an older style sure but it works.

Seriously. Chibi can add a bit of a much needed break from any serious storylines that would otherwise be depressing, but that point still stands. There's a point where it detracts from a game rather than adds to it. They really should make it easier to have non-chibi sprites. The way we do make them feels more like a loophole than an intended part of the engine's design.

The reason it still works in old games is nostalgia. Modern chibi games aren't that popular, really.

I definitely like making things on the cute and silly side but even I really wouldn't have quite gone with the MV headsize. I just imagine them all needing to walk around in c-collars.

Side note, though. Psst.

I'm curious, how many hours in RPG Maker do you have? I'm clocked in at 2100 hours on MV and the vast majority of it is for one game. I wish I could track how much I used XP back in the day, I was on it a lot.
Why is it so early? Can I have twenty more minutes of sleep, please?
