Wow, how did you do that map of Weald Forest? I mean, even with parallexing, that seems quite the feat. It's super amazing! What tiles are those? I recognize the town as Mack, I think. And maybe the interior as well. But the forest (and that stream! uwah~!) I don't.

I'm really, really, really looking forward to your game. It's beautiful and new. =)

Oh I have been admiring this game for quite a while now. Glad to see you're still working on it.

Thank you! The weald is a combination of mack tiles, XP RTP tiles, some spriting of my own (the tall trunks)and a couple of recolored rips from alundra (most prominiently the ferns).

The water I painted in photoshop, and the pale water's edge is actually transparent with a moving parralax image underneath to simulate the sparkle of the water's edge and ripples.

This one is also not dead. I am doing some world building on it right now. I'm actually running a tabletop rpg with some of my friends a few generations before the events of OotM to help flesh out the history of the world and build some lore.

I even made a physical puzzle game in the tabletop version for my player to solve. Image and explanation under the spoiler.

SUmoMaj.jpg

They discovered some items in a defunct Mage's Guild building and had to figure out how to use them to locate the place where two ley lines meet.

And here's the breakdown of how it worked:

1: The items as they discoverd them, a folded up piece of parchment with a leather cord around it with some sort of stone ring on the cord, and a small pouch.

2: It's a map! I spent about 3 hours on it, not finished yet, need to finish shading with watercolor pencils, write in city/region names and add the rest of the glyphs, only two were needed first campaign. The pouch contained two red gems with markings.

3: The "stone" (actually sculpey) ring had eight runes on it and two holes drilled through it. The gems had each a large dot, a line and a series of smaller dots (2 and 3).

4: On the map are glyphs inked in red and brown. They each have a distinct number of dots in their design (2 and 3).

5: The large dots align to north, and the players had to match the number of small dots to the glyphs. Once the gem is placed over the glyph, the red lines vanish and only the relevant rune part is visible, which once viewed with the line on the gem, forms one of the runes from the stone ring.

6: Once they figure out which rune it matches, they place the ring over the glyph with the proper rune oriented north. The drilled holes show where to mark down dots.

7: Once the dots are mared, the ring is removed.

8: Draw a line through the dots!

9: Do the same with the second glyph, and you find a point where the two lines intersect! Better pack up your gear, it's roadtrip time!

Looks interesting. I really dig the custom artwork and the look of the game overall.

This looks really good. you've mentioned kind of where you got all your tiles...but if you don't mind me asking...where did you get the cliff tiles your using? (in the 5th screenshot from the top). I think they look really good.

Anyway, back to the topic. Your story has plenty of intrigue...and all without lotsa magic...and faeries and—you get the point. Looking forward to this game. XD

Love the maps and the general colour scheme, especially the outdoor areas.

I've been looking forward to this project for years, ever since I saw it over at RMRK, so I'm really happy that development has resumed :) . I also agree with what someone else said in the thread about the font being a bit hard to read at first glance. It looks really elegant and stylish, but I think a lot of players would prefer something more legible.

This project has garnered my interest ( and yay for more female leads ^^ ). I saw this on RMVX.net ages ago, but didn't realise how good it was until I gave it a good look here. I ( and many others ) expect a demo soon. =)

Thank you!

The demo is back in production, looking to be a late fall release for the full demo, really hoping to have a quick gameplay demo done sooner, really pushing for August for that.

I've made quite a few changes, so I'll be updating the main post to reflect those changes very soon!

This looks really cool, but if I may offer one piece of constructive criticism I'd seriously consider using a different font. The one in your screenshots is pretty, but really not conducive to the rapid dissemination of information required in an RPG as it's difficult to read.

Funny you mention that...that is one of the changes already made! It really was pretty eye-crossing. I'll be replacing all of the screenshot images to reflect that change and others:

Also, Thanks a ton for putting up the Slip into Ruby series @Trihan, I definitely referenced that while figuring out how to script to get this project rolling again.

Aww, the pleasure is mine! It always gives me the warm and fuzzies knowing that my series helped a new generation of RM users find their feet and put out amazing games. <3

I now officially hate moustaches.
I have a couple of NPCs who are important enough to need faces. I have learned that I can't really do moustaches, & now wish I'd never started this.
A sad day for me. A monitor that served me loyally for more than 5 years is getting replaced. It's begun to throw very large sparks.
