I'm not fond of KotH because I think it focuses way too much on stalling over actually fighting. I really like Hybrid and Escort. King's Row and Junkertown are probably my two favorite.

Least favorite is Volskaya. The point 2 defense has such an insane defender spawn advantage.

Just got the breast cancer charity skin for mercy.
Fantastic charity initiative from Blizzard and a chance to play a little more with her.

I think it is legit her best looking skin. Magical Girl Mercy is awesome, and BCRF is a great charity.

I believe temple of Anubis is cursed for me. It is not even a bad map, but all games I have there just tends to have entire team melting into a toxic pool...

Anyway, the new event. I can´t really say I feel the new deathmatch map but I really appreciate being able to replay the old event (expecially Junktenstein, which I missed last year so I have only played it once 1,5 years ago). Anybody have any golden guns? I tend to alternate between buying troll ones and ones for characters I actually use competively.

    Troll weps:
    Junkrat
    Torbjörn

    Comp weps:
    Lucio
    Winston

I'm quitting Overwatch for this season, I lost 400 SR in 2 days :'(
The entrance of Brigitte and her synergy with Rein and Zarya in the deathball meta makes my main, Soldier76 effectively useless.
But the popularity of Brigitte should really clue Blizzard in on the popular of melee-type heroes to deal with fast flankers like Genji and Tracer and I'm really hoping they add some more similar heroes in there.

Try to main a tank, a support a defense and the dps hero you already do. You don't go far with only one role.

Yeah I have been shoehorned into using my tank (D.Va) and healer (Mercy) mains, it's just that Soldier used to be my strongest hero and I'm really feeling it hard.

Ouch. Yeah, I had that too last season. A lot of the people I used to play with have quitted the game so I really had to pull myself up by my own bootstraps to get back. I pretty much has it as a rule not to play comp at all if I fall below a certain SR. Next season just places you about a hundred over your current level anyways...
I really hope the new social features Blizzards are implementing makes it easier to find good teams for solo queurs.

Anybody played the ptr symmetra? She's got plenty of bugs and balance fixing to go through but I really like the direction they're going with her, it's gonna make for some very interesting strategies in the future.

I have heard some nightmarish stories about sudden Torbjörn turrets, Bastions and exploding D.V.A mechs coming from behind, but most seem positive to the changes.

I was trying to find that one gif where a player throws the exploding mech from afar into the teleporter so it explodes immediately as it comes out into a cluster of enemies, netting them a quadrakill.

Had gotten into the game recently, playing it on the PS4 when over with my friends for the weekend for about a month or two now when I'm there. I adore the lore of the setting and the unique characters, but I'm a bit disappointed at some of the tweaks to character balancing. For instance, my one pal is gobsmacked that her favorite hero, Mercy, has been nerfed to the point of being redundant. Also, I'm fairly surprised at the new hero they're adding myself.

Regardless, is a fun game and the only reason I'm gonna renew my PSN subscription when I haven't owned a PlayStation console in years. My mains are McCree, D. Va and Mei, though I'd like to get better at Tracer and learn a support. Maybe Brigitte? Speaking of though, I feel this needs to be shared for those who haven't seen it yet... >_>

    It´s Hamtaro time!

Mercy will always be difficult to balance. Having a teamkill negated because a Mercy was hiding somwhere was never any fun, and Mercy´s one-person ressurect is still powerful enough that a team running a Mercy will almost always have a huge advantage over a team not running Mercy, at least in the comp scene.

I gotta say, I am really positive to the new "looking for group" and endorsement system. I was trying it out in comp and joined a group as a tank. So in the middle of the match, and at a critical moment, I completely bungle a Reinhardt ult (as in, I didn´t get a single guy with it) and we lost the round pretty badly. Normally that would probably lead to everybody chewing me out and even possibly even someone ragequitting but not this time.

So, next game I end up being way more communicative on the mic (usually I just call out enemies coming in with ult, asking who wants nano-boosts etc and saying when to push in with Lucio and so on) and we end up winning the match, netting me a shot caller endorsement!

Sure, you may be cynical and say that the endorsement system just makes everyone be "fake nice" but what is important is that I feel that it kept the team together in a situation where the team would normally have melted into a pile of toxicity+encouraged me personally to make up for my mistake in communicating with the team.

Mercy is still by far one of the most powerful supports.

    Strong single character healing: Check
High survivability due to mobility and health regen: Check and check.
Ability to change break points for allies: Check
The only ability that rezzes in the entire game: Check
The ability to do change break points, or heal your entire team at once during Ult while being super hard to hit: Check

There is a reason that Mercy is almost universally picked at high levels of play, and is still one of the highest picked supports across all ranks. She is one of the best supports and has one of the lowest skill floors to play well.

Zen+Mercy has pretty much been meta so hard to the point that people run triple support to run Brigette because EVEN AS STRONG AS SHE IS, giving up Zen or Mercy is a no go in most cases.

Hammond is fun to play but feel really gimmicky. I have a hard time seeing him used except as a distraction during a dive. Luckily his shield ability is not as OP as I had first feared. His ult is really powerful though for holding one of the smaller points (Illios Lighthouse) for example. All of the mines have 50 hp each and getting rid of them while being distracted by the enemy is very bothersome! Tip if you have problems with them; use Winston. He can get them all in one go and they count towards the minesweeper achievement!

My bet is that we see Hammond run with triple tank dive. Winston + D.Va + Hammond makes a hell of a tanky dive that can still peel for their back line.

The burst damage potential is just too high not to look at.

Just Piledriver + Winston leap alone can do 145 damage, add in the melee at land for both and that is enough to straight up kill a 200hp character instantaneously.

Can't believe I only just noticed this thread.

But yeah I play this game pre much all the time now, haha. Very very fun stuff with friends, and a decent time-waster on your own. I'm gold in competitive atm, on my way to platinum. Not sure when I'll reach it, but I'm not worried, cus I'm pretty good with my mains and I don't normally get complaints about my playing ability, so that helps :3 I'd be happy to play with anyone here, just PM me for my info!

Although it does not look very likely, I really hope the summer event brings something new to the table rather than just more Lucioball. Lucioball is fun (due to maining Lucio it is one of the few modes I have achieved a high rank in), but I really would like to see some more effort put into the events instead of just more skins. it does not have to be much. Lucioball could work with some of the other characters. Winston with his jumping abilities could be fun, or Brigitte with her mace smack (with added mobility of course).
