The Quest for the Elemental Crystals

Gameplay Synopsis

Spoiler

“The Quest for the Elemental Crystals” is an old-school RPG. The gameplay is simple and is fairly simple in terms of challenge. The game has a lot of fun with many tropes from RPGs and other types of media. It’s light-hearted for the most part, but does get atmospheric at times.  The battle system is only somewhat altered from the out-of-the-box engine gameplay-wise and virtually unchanged in terms of aesthetics. You will have three characters in battle once you get all the party members. This game is targeted at beginner to intermediate players, but experts will probably enjoy the RPG jokes and the depth in the gameplay that comes later on, even if it is not overly-inventive in terms of what can be considered experimental gameplay approaches. The map system works the same as a typical RPG except that all the encounters in the game can be seen in the map. Therefore, there are no random encounters in the game whatsoever. I’ve designed the game so grinding won’t be necessary. If you fight every encounter once and only once each, you should still have plenty of levels to finish the game. The map system works like in traditional RPGs. You walk around with the arrow keys. You interact and confirm menu options with either the “C” or the “Enter” key. You open up the menu or cancel menu options with either the “X” key or with the “Escape” key. You can save at any time on the map, but there are also “Save Journals” throughout the game, usually serving as a reminder that it may be a good idea to save the game. The game is about 10 hours long, but you can beat it in as little as 5 if you speed through it. It is meant to be a family-friendly game.

He mad, but he cute :kaopride:

Our latest feature is an interview with... me?!

People4_2 (Capelet off and on) added!

Just beat the last of us 2 last night and starting jedi: fallen order right now, both use unreal engine & when I say i knew 80% of jedi's buttons right away because they were the same buttons as TLOU2 its ridiculous, even the same narrow hallway crawl and barely-made-it jump they do. Unreal Engine is just big budget RPG Maker the way they make games nearly identical at its core lol.
Can someone recommend some fun story-heavy RPGs to me? Coming up with good gameplay is a nightmare! I was thinking of making some gameplay platforming-based, but that doesn't work well in RPG form*. I also was thinking of removing battles, but that would be too much like OneShot. I don't even know how to make good puzzles!
