This is my first game in RPG Maker called "Dream of Shadows." It was actually inspired by "Blank Dream" but I want this game to be a bit different. It features puzzle solving and stealth and is a heavy-story driven game.
Story
Dreams open the door to possibilities, or so they say. Can this truly all be in Lillian's mind and just a dream? She finds her self waking up in an abandoned mansion after falling asleep on the school bus and searches the place for her brother and her friends. The mansion holds secrets that are dark and twisted as is the mind of its creator. But who created it? All Lillian wants to do is get out and go home. But the mansion reveals her own fears and desires as well as the fears and desires of her friends and brother.
Characters
Lillian Raven: A young high school girl who suffers from albinism. Because she looks like this she has been bullied and it made her a little shy. She is uncomfortable around new people and tries to hide from them. Lillian hopes to one day become a writer and create stories to inspire people. She hates dresses and wants nothing to do with them. She also is afraid of the name "Snow White", when she is called that she panics and breaks down crying. If you have to give her a nickname, call her Lilly.
Future Dream: Writer
Fears: To be hated by anyone.
Desire: To be normal.
Leon Raven: Lilly's older brother and a bit of a tough guy. Even though he is strong and protective of his sister, he has a huge fear of mannequins, dolls, animatronics and oddly statues. He will do anything for his sister and even get in trouble, that is how much he loves her and wants to keep her safe.
Future Dream: Martial Artist
Fears: Mannequins, Dolls, animatronics, statues
Desire: Lilly to defend herself.
Hannah Snow: She is an old friend of Lilly and is well known for being prepared. She is smart and actually likes to pull pranks but hates it when they get turned on her. She's also a deep sleeper and not much can wake her up. Like Leon, she'll do anything for Lilly. She has a huge crush on Leon.
Future Dream: Teacher.
Fears: To be alone.
Desire: To be with Leon forever.
Etienne Pearce: He is Leon's closest friend and is somewhat of a dimwit. He isn't as quick as his friends but he keeps the group laughing even though they poke fun at him, he shrugs it off. He is a bit of a comic relief.
Future Dream: Sports player
Fears: Death
Desire: To not be picked on.
V: Who is she? I don't know, she won't say. She'll let you guess but won't give any hints except that it starts with V. She was an imaginary friend created from a book but began to manifest and become real. She is a psychopath and enjoys watching others suffer and even makes others suffer to. She is just a kid so to her everything is a game, even death.
Azrael Richards: The main antagonist and the one who wrote Lilly's favorite book. After the release of his book he began to lose everything, his son was killed overseas and his wife left him. But worst of all, his daughter died of an illness. He will go as far as using black magic.
Future Dream: None
Fears: Losing everything.
Desire: To bring his daughter back.
Marie Richards: Azrael's daughter and one who has lived a bad life. She never really had any friends and was often alone, depressed and lusts for her father's attention and even hated him for a while. But she suffered from hemoptysis (Coughing up blood) and eventually died from it. Her body was brought back with black magic but is trapped in a permanent state of torment and sickness.
Future Dream: Illustrator
Fears: V
Desire: To have at least one real friend.
Captain Jonathan Richards: Azrael's oldest son and Marie's brother. He was close to Marie but when he turned eighteen he left home to join the military. The military in this world is different and instead of guns, the military only use blades, he became the military's best swordsman but he was killed in a war overseas. His death brought tragedy upon his family. When they were younger he would teach his sister how to have fun and she enjoyed doing things like climbing trees and running since their father was always busy.
Future Dream: To be a General
Fears: Loss of family
Desire: To see Marie again
Memory Characters
Dante Alexander: The popular one in high school, yet he hates his popularity. Only popular for his looks he has his eyes set on one girl, Lilly. He is another of Leon's friends and is one of the few that didn't start bullying Lilly. He wasn't aware of her crush on him until his cousin mentioned it.
Future Dream: Director
Fears: Being lost. (Has a bad sense of direction)
Desire: To always have a map
Melanie Calhoun: Dante's cousin and the one who came up with Lillian's nickname "Lilly." She is energetic, witty, and quick to catch on. She is the first to complement Lilly and to spot her crush for Dante. Melanie is willing to do anything to help Lilly break from her shyness.
Future Dream: Counselor
Fears: Rejection
Desire: Make as many friends as possible
