Is this supposed to be a WIP resource or are you making things to share?  Either way that map doesn't belong here.  If it's WIP the rest doesn't belong either.  This section is for sharing finished resources.

OH sorry sorry >< ugg =.= the sprite finished. that map is too Oo but its only parall though not a tile set o.o its pretty much WIP and things to give out at same time for anyone that wants to use them they can :3

Hi guys,

I'm trying to make a new style of characters, from which I'm making a template and this is how it goes so far. (see attached image).

I feel something is weird about that template, specially when is looking left. How I can I improve it?

I'm trying to make the blue soldier dude from Rm2k for RMMV, any tips so far? I'm using the Rm2k RTP sprite and the Half Kaizer version as reference.



I'm also a complete newb at spriting, go easy on me.

@HonestInnocence - I really like the changes ot the hair, it looks a million times better :)  

@Bridgeman - I haven't used MV... but all the other RM engines have used an upper left light source so I'm going ot assume MV does as well?  So someone correct me if I'm wrong... the helmet curently has a very pillow shady look to me.  Regardless of the perspective, the featehr thing on the top should cast down a shadow, also you have a very hard outline.  What I've seen from MV the outline seems to have softened quite a bit and there is next to no shading on the metal of the helmet.  Metal has a shine to it thats very important to catch or it will look very dull.

Maybe I looked too much at the HK version, I'll try a top left light source. The white part is difficult to shade because I have very little space there. And even then I don't really know how to give it a shiny look with only two or three colors.

His sheds and tail and (don't know how the sheds on his lower body called) implying a profile view, while his legs clearly indicate a 3/4 view.

So I am guessing that rotating some of the legs should fix the issue?

I dont exactly have the eye of an artist here..

@Sinweaver - keep at it. It's a very appealing character.


I have no luck with windows.





Depending on the background tiles they look too light or too pop-out. Sometimes they look really good on one surface but horrid on another.


And the large window at the bottom seems to me like the cross-lines are too bright on this surface.


And the suitablity changes from exterior wall tile to another!!! Am I losing my mind?

About your window, (even though I cant be considered an artist) i feel that the transition between the blue and white is too slow. Maybe it is fine if the glass is see through, but for the glass you can't see through, I feel that Lunarea's window (the one at the bottom) looks good.

Just beat the last of us 2 last night and starting jedi: fallen order right now, both use unreal engine & when I say i knew 80% of jedi's buttons right away because they were the same buttons as TLOU2 its ridiculous, even the same narrow hallway crawl and barely-made-it jump they do. Unreal Engine is just big budget RPG Maker the way they make games nearly identical at its core lol.
Can someone recommend some fun story-heavy RPGs to me? Coming up with good gameplay is a nightmare! I was thinking of making some gameplay platforming-based, but that doesn't work well in RPG form*. I also was thinking of removing battles, but that would be too much like OneShot. I don't even know how to make good puzzles!
one bad plugin combo later and one of my followers is moonwalking off the screen on his own... I didn't even more yet on the new map lol.
