@Omega Weapon It looks pretty good yet, but isn't a bit to tiny for that sort of creature? :D


@LazierBandit You will need to improve the shades, it has atm more or less flat colors, that is something you should try to avoid, otherwise you will have **** loads of work to make them fit with the tileset ;)


I put alot effort in my tiles and have alot better experience right now, i tuned nearly every object color and also changed the colors of the characters.


In addition to this i added some new tiles and Stuff :D  Maybe you even have some advices for the clock :D

@McSundae Increase the resolution, the tiles and sprites appear too large for 720p, maybe bump to 900p or 1080p.


Just my 2 cents.

@Rukiri: Well, i don't think it's about the tiles in reality - i'm using map zoom script at 200%, gives a more pixelated look but gives a better exploring experience in my opinion, not really sure yet what it will end up :D

Slowly been working on some side-view battlers. Been posting updates on my Deviant Art (Kidlet83) but;

Our alpha female in a combat idle animation and a ready/physical. Her combat idle is pretty much done. Still working on the ready/physical animation. I wanted to stay away from the Hollywood vision of rats and ended up asking my neice two thousand different questions about how her pet rats behave. :3

According to my friend who's a research doctor the animations in Ratatouille are really accurate, so if you need reference material you could watch that.

@McSundae Looks better only the stones needs to be wider on the ttop. Such small stones would easily crack.

@McSundae: The map looks really neat, but I don't see any contrast on the characters and the map. The clock looks really good!


@Stridah: The weapons look good, but I don't see them doing any harm, maybe if you do the blade parts white, it would look like it would cut more, but tha's just me!


Hi guys!


I'm working on making my own graphics from scratch.


One thing I really need to make first... is the freaking trees. I love a game with good trees, but I suck at pixel art.


I've done this so far and I really need feedback because if it's good, it will the base for my first trees to start with.


What do you guys think? Thanks!

Thanks for the feedback and im kinda happy that there is finally nothing much that's bad about it :D  i think i will have the tiles like they are for now and will continue with the house and castle specific tiles

Starting the long process of a custom template... oh boy...


Starting with female, the grid is 128x128.


This is just the head for now.

@c0sa  Don't worry so much about the trunk.  Because of the perspective you'll barely see it.  Also, you should use references wherever possible, your roots look like they're done from memory, real roots don't look like that.


@Rukiri  Woah, that side view has no room for a skull or brain!  The size of the face is fine but the back end needs lots more width.  Your ears are also kind of strangely positioned.  For the typical RPG downward perspective the height on the head is fine, but it's the only thing placed that way.  Everything else is full side view, so they look really high instead.  The tops of ears shouldn't go higher than the eyebrows unless the person is tilting their head down or being looked at from above.

Working on some MV tiles. Painterly tiles this time. 32px pixel tiles are taking me long enough, and somehow, I like painterly better :p  


Not entirely happy with the dirt though.

I don't know what program you're using to draw with but Krita has a canvas wrap feature that makes creating seamless tiles a little easier.  I think your dirt is too saturated in color.  Well, the grass is too, but it's less of a problem with grass.

p/s the trees you made is nice for gaming while your brother's is more towards realism.

I work in Photoshop CS6. Well, in PS, I usually save a tile as a pattern and flood fill to check it. And of course, while making, offset with wrap-around feature.

Just beat the last of us 2 last night and starting jedi: fallen order right now, both use unreal engine & when I say i knew 80% of jedi's buttons right away because they were the same buttons as TLOU2 its ridiculous, even the same narrow hallway crawl and barely-made-it jump they do. Unreal Engine is just big budget RPG Maker the way they make games nearly identical at its core lol.
