@Omega Weapon This is truely better then the first version, still it has a really tough contrast  and is to saturated for my personal preference :D  Maybe some Pixel-Guru over here got some better advice than me :D  Still creating my first tileset too

I got alot of new screens for you guys since i created so much new stuff in the recent few days ;-)

First i have to show you my new castle tiles :D  Sure, i quite need the steps in stone but this will come probably later on today ;)

2nd Screen is also for my castle tiles, here you can see the towers and some windows :D

The 3rd Screen comes from my new basic wood houses

And last but not least, very simple cave setup (no effects like lightning yet but it's on its way :D)

I'm completely new to spriting. I have no idea what I'm doing. I'm trying to make a sprite of Donald Trump, but so far I could only get his suit? I'm having a lot of trouble with his hair because I have no clue on how to design hair. Can someone give me any pointers and advice here? Possibly a tutorial too, because I can't seem to find any tutorials that suit my specific need for RPG Maker sprite design.

Advice for drawing hair.  It's easy to get caught up in the details and miss what the overall shape is.  Hair works in clumps and clusters and locks working in groups, usually strands are not individual.  It's also easy to go the other extreme and act like it's a big sheet and forgetting that it flows away from the roots which are all over the head.  It wouldn't be a bad thing to pretend you're drawing water at first and then try to make it look like hair.

Advice for pixeling.  Start with the general shape, don't outline it work with big bold blocks of color and shading and refine from there.  When you get the shape and volume the way you want, that's when you worry about details like highlights and outlines and such.

As for the design, since you want this to look like Trump you don't have to design anything.  Trump already has a look for his hair.  It's going to be impossible to get that bad rug look from a sprite though, you'll just have to do without.

For some reason, the stained glass -when placed behind the tracery- is a bit harsh on my eyes. Any opinions?

@KanaX: Maybe the stained glass colors are too saturated? Since it's glass, it's partially transparent so the light coming through it should make it a little more whitish.

Or maybe just work with transparency and add a (fake) exterior behind.

 Honestly, I don't know why I didn't do that in the first place. Too desaturated? I also lowered the transparency. No fake exterior though. I will leave it like that, so whoever uses them has the opportunity to stick whatever they want behind.

@KanaX: That looks... sick... amazing, really amazing!!

@Omega Weapon: The dirt, the left side of it looks too much static, dirt it's supposed to be more "random", and I don't see the contrast with the grass, it looks like it's on top of the grass, when it should be the other way, now, the tileset it's really good, it repeats without problem so it looks good!

@McSundae: loving the screenshots, I still think that the players don't mix that much with the map but still everything is well made. Also, why always 0 gems? :(

@Prodigy 1216: Looks good, kinda small like I said before but still, pretty good job, looks smooth, would love to see another gif.

Guys, been trying different styles... what tree do you prefer??

I really appreciate the feedback, thanks!

@c0sa You should avoid pillowshading. 2nd when the sun shines you will never see pure black shadows on the bottom since the ground reflects light. If put your hand above a table for example, and then look at the bottom of your hand, you will notice IT wouldn't be pitch black, if your now put a whie sheet of paper under your hand you will notice that the bottom shadow will get the color of the ground. If you put a green paper under it the shadow will become slightly greenish. Mostly about 30% of the light will be reflected, the amount changes depending on the ground material. A mirror almost reflects all of the light.

Here is an example about pillowshading:

I think the orifinal source is from wayofthepixel.net

I'm on mobile so it's hard to confirm the source.

@c0sa Here's the animation.

I also made another battler based on Kaduki's character.

I took the pose of the characters from JUMP and remake it to look like these.

@Prodigy 1216 Great animation - looks kinda smooth :)

@c0sa: I think you should try to improve the leaf and wood texture at those trees, maybe it's just the lightning that is not perfect yet like@Shiroi Akuma already mentioned ;)

PS: Gems are atm always at 0 since i just work at my ressources and the general gameplay systems, so i basicly just start at some map that is only created for screens ;D

Today i created my very first icons for my game :D

I think they are matching pretty perfectly with my own tiles ;)  It's a good feeling when you create something where everything is going to match at the end

I'm trying, and failing, to make portrait art. Hiring an artist is so expensive so I have to make my own, but I'm a bad artist. Tell me, is it as bad as I think >.<

I've tried 1000000 different clothes coloring techniques and they all end up looking bad ToT

Sketchy style because I couldn't get the lineart to look good.

And then there is this one I didn't finish

@terrorchan I think Its okay. But the male's eyes are far from each other. Try to make them a little bit closer. While the female's eyes seem like men's. Try adding eyelashes. I like your coloring style. Try following references from an artist or so. You have done good so far.

EDIT: Oh yeah try to do some shading. Forgot to mention it.

@terrorchan I think they're awesome! I personally think they're great! My one piece of advice would be moving the male guy's eyes closer together, but other than that, they're amazing!

@terrorchan As far as I can see on my small mobile screen, her collarbones are to close together. You should think of the sternum right between und them. Or else is would hurt much if she stretches her arms in front. Also her shoulders are hanging while her collarbones indicate that both of her shoulders are upwards.

You know you draw cleavage bad when someone thinks it's a collar bone  ;_;

lmao I had to add the boobs in post-production so to speak. Doesn't help that I've never really had to draw a bust character XD

Thought it looked awesome and just like Nariko xD

I first thought it was a  collarbone or a top under her shirt to begin with but it looks really good I can actually tell it's cleavage though

Just beat the last of us 2 last night and starting jedi: fallen order right now, both use unreal engine & when I say i knew 80% of jedi's buttons right away because they were the same buttons as TLOU2 its ridiculous, even the same narrow hallway crawl and barely-made-it jump they do. Unreal Engine is just big budget RPG Maker the way they make games nearly identical at its core lol.
