I'm a bit late to the discussion, but I'm torn between the 2 because I would want both characters. If I could only have one choice, though, then it would be the one on the right. In part that's because although I love the pose and coat on the left, I am not a great fan of what looks like it's going to be bikini armour.

Not late at all, been working on enemy item drop icons in the mean time.
Its sort of like panel armour plates, with cloth hanging from them.

I think what I'll do is keep both designs and whichever seems to form easier I'll do first. So pleased that both have been well received.

@Holder I like 'em! :wub The coat-tails on both of these models are just sweet potatoes! I also like the grey colour scheme on yo archer model, but if you unsure, you cud always play around with the classic green-brown scheme? Or a royal green-gold?

Gotta say the hip armour doesn't do anythin' for me, but I understand that it's par for the course for anime-inspired styles. Personally I'd leave both the wizard and the archer without armour!:kaoswt2:

I love these.
Like alice_gristle I think the wizard and archer are better without armour.
On the colour scheme if you decide to change the grey clothes, though I like that, then I'd go for British Racing Green rather than one of the more usual shades of green. Hex code 004225, because you can get some less saturated shades which are far lighter than the norm.

Thank you :) I was distracting myself with temporary colours so I just went for grey to help me think.
I've got a second version of the Wizard without any armour pieces that I'm going to release once it's all polished up.
I do kinda want an armoured version then an alternative no armoured version just to give people a choice.

I love these.

Cheers :) Oh 100% it's not gonna be grey, just getting the shapes and form correct.
I shall try that out for sure.

Going for a Gunner/Hunter rather than the Archer next. Also working on a companion/enemy.
Wanted to try and get armoured heroes done and putting this into someone who uses ranged weapons is kinda tough.

Hello, I'm currently working on a game but Im struggling currently with how to make my maps more atmosphereic, i dont know if i should focus on editing the maps themselves or making my own resources to try and complete the look I want, I'm not very experienced so any advice would help. Thank you :) !UNDGRST.png!hallway.png

@Holder I like the new character. But looking at it I had a new thought (well, new to me. Possibly commonplace to others). Armour is to protect me. Why would I put armour on my lower legs which might impede my agility and protect something important (I need to be able to stand) but not especially vulnerable instead of wearing a full breast plate which would give protection to all my vital organs. It also protects that part of the body which is easiest to target.

@usouu It's always difficult to know where to start, but I would suggest that you begin with your maps. They have an important part to play in telling your story. I would also suggest that you post them for feedback and advice on the Game and Map Screenshot thread. You will get much more map specific feedback there than here.

@Holder I really like how the armour looks on the gunner kid! :kaoluv: The leg armour especially is gorgeous! The pose looks kind of, how to put it... casual? But I guess Imma withhold final opinion on that until I see 'em wielding their weapon!

@Kes I guess the leg armour that we see on a lot of fantasy designs comes from the hoplite gear in antiquity, where they usta wear greaves kinda like that, and sometimes no other armour at all. But then they used a shield to protect the rest of the body... :kaojoy:Gonna have to agree that it looks anachronistic and kinda useless, but then again, a lot of things in fantasy designs are made just to look cool (or hot), and I prefer the egregious greaves to the chainmail bikini!

With one of the types of weapons. A crossbow is the alternative type.

To answer that my thought process was they're going to be stood in the backline, stationary. So some kind of protection there would be needed. Crouching and bending for shots is still possible and unrestrictive (Also finding this out when animating him) There's no real problem armour areas.
Since it's also side facing the main part of armour on his shoulder is there to protect his arm and face when aiming.

Relaxed and elegant I was trying for, waiting for the perfect shot :)
I've been designing these with a fantasy medieval them since I feel that's the most popular theme for RPG Maker games.

@PhreekinSmpl Looks like a nice shape for a unit, You could possibly get away with doing them a bit deeper or is it double ended? Like products on both sides?

I've got an alternative Knight in the works so I wanted to release it with more 2Handed Swords:

The 'Insolver' not 'bust'er sword, with the 'ray' sword totally not 'beam' sword :)

No, no, of course not. Never let it be said!
Looking good.

@PhreekinSmpl Nice shape. Unless something is e.g. moulded plastic, there is usually some subtle colour variations to be seen. Nothing necessarily obvious, but a touch of variation would make them easier on the eye. At the moment they seem a bit harsh.
