Ah ok, which ones in particular? I can make them smaller when I start the line art on SAI. (The head thing always seems to be a recurring issue, I really need to work on that. -_-)

The heads are a bit big, but the real problem is that everything else is so very short.  Adult bodies should be about 3 heads high, yours are about 1 and a half.  Basically, you've given them the proportions of a toddler.  I think this is happening because you're drawing at a bad angle, making everything look distorted, and you're not drawing the entire body, so you can't tell how short this is making your people.  You're also making the pelvis area much too short, there's no room for bones or plumbing down there.  I've edited the drawing of the first man to give him better proportions.  It's not perfect, but it should give you an idea about what you need to fix.

Wow, everything seems to make a lot more sense now... Damn, everyone does look like kids! Well this is awkward. Though it is true that when I draw I'm at several angles when drawing the same picture. What angle do recommend? I tend to draw on my lap or flat table.

The recommended angle is with the top tilted up.  This is why drawing tables aren't flat, it's easy to make things distorted.  I draw on a couch or something with my knees up to recreate the effect.

Mmmm, I remember when using the drawing arm at an architect office made drawing feel more natural as well. I should probably stop drawing chibi as well for awhile...

I do want to draw people in correct proportion. I keep my monster, gothic and nightmare drawing abstracted because it's interesting that way. All these years of self-taught ignorance... I need to start life drawing again -_-

Since your style is so cartoony, you can get away with a lot of stuff. I think it's fine.

I haven't had much time at all to work on my tileset. All I've been able to do is make a doorway and a statue.

The statue was surprisingly fun to make. I wanna make one facing up too.

@Chaos Avian, @Chrome

I don't think the style itself is cartoony. I think it more of the way that it's colored with no shading that's making it seem that way. I guarantee you that some shading work and thinner lineart would get rid of that cartoon look, unless that was the goal.

Anyway, the body looks great now. Great job fixing up the proportions. The only thing I can point out now is perhaps the lengths of the arms look a bit short to me.

@Worldbites

I don't want to sound like I'm coming off as condescending, so please excuse it. But some of these sprites make it sound like you can't decide on a shading style for them. Some are being colored like soft-shaded world, while parts of it are colored pixel-by-pixel like sprites would be. The bottom sprite it a good example of that. If you're going to do sprite work, I would suggest steering clear of using soft-shading.. otherwise it's not pixel-art. I hope I'm making sense. Unless you are specifically going for the soft shaded look.

@Rinselli: Thanks and yup, I do plan to add shading and whatnot onto the character as well, I just wanted to check if the general proportioning was more or less right before I start shading (that's always the longest part...)

I posted some of my battlers here and wanted to try and draw something quick and dirty this time.

I tried drawing the battler as small as possible. Probably gonna enlarge the canvas next time. I find myself lost in details if the canvas is too big :/

@Worldbites

Comparing the badman sprites, 4. IMO

I make pixel by pixel, non-use editing programs automatically.

I think there's some confusion with language.  What she's saying is that your sprites have shading that is anti-aliased.  It should either be all hard edged pixels or all softer brush techniques, though I, like Rinselli, prefer pixel art sprites.

no you didn't. there's obvious soft brush stuff in some of those.

Uh, hopefully this goes here:

It's a drawing of Shiina Mashiro (used a reference) and I hope it's considered a resource x3 I'm kind of having trouble with shading the two long strands reaching down to her breast. Any advice would be gladly welcomed :3

Actually, I'd like to have some advice regarding my anatomy issues first. I'm bad at figuring out anatomy issues of my drawing, A few tips on this and that, etc would be really helpful :3

It's very nice, but if I may add in, her body seems rather... long to me. Especially around the collar area. Since the breasts shouldn't be down that low. Have you considered trying to draw frames first to form the basic frame? I highly recommend you try that out before drawing in the details like hair and clothes, it's helped me many times to make sure the proportions aren't looking strange. Her hands also seem really small to me.

As for coloring, it depends, which way are you going to shade it? Soft-shading or celshading? Just remember to designate a light source before doing so as it will help guide you as far as shading goes.

Our latest feature is an interview with... me?!

People4_2 (Capelet off and on) added!

Just beat the last of us 2 last night and starting jedi: fallen order right now, both use unreal engine & when I say i knew 80% of jedi's buttons right away because they were the same buttons as TLOU2 its ridiculous, even the same narrow hallway crawl and barely-made-it jump they do. Unreal Engine is just big budget RPG Maker the way they make games nearly identical at its core lol.
Can someone recommend some fun story-heavy RPGs to me? Coming up with good gameplay is a nightmare! I was thinking of making some gameplay platforming-based, but that doesn't work well in RPG form*. I also was thinking of removing battles, but that would be too much like OneShot. I don't even know how to make good puzzles!
one bad plugin combo later and one of my followers is moonwalking off the screen on his own... I didn't even more yet on the new map lol.
