 I was thinking of centering the status icons in the 'status box' area
That might work.  In reality, I suppose it would be rare for anyone to be afflicted with that many status effects at once and still be on their feet, so probably it would never look quite as crowded as that.

It could very easily be adapted for a steam powered generator or even physical drawn labor by men or animals.



I need to reorder how I move his hand and the glasses independently of each other.  The glasses should fall down first, and then the hand should go up to readjust them and let them stay while the hand moves back down.  Ugh.



At least glowy eyes worked.

Any thoughts on my Icons ? They are only RTP edits (Mostly), but still took quite a while due to my suboptimal 'pixel placement skills'.

I didn't want to just link the iconset as its not finished yet, so here are some screenshots of the icons in use...

I appreciate all critique...

Dekita: I think the icons themselves are fine, but I don't like the text on top. It's hard to read and hurts my eyes to try. Not because it's illegible or too small, but because it's busy with high contrast. If the way you've got them displayed on the screencaps is the way they'll mostly be seen in game then the text is completely redundant.


Palladinthug: So cute! I love DS style! I think the for head and nose need those lighter colors like the Ace sprite though, it's looking really dark and it's hard to see volumes at the moment.

Yea, I am not to keen on the text either, unfortunately, some of the icons are repeated, like Mana/ MP Regen or Vit/ HP /HP Regen. Adding a small piece of text seemed like the best/quickest way for me to differentiate between such icons.

Once I have a unique icon for each stat I will, most likely, be removing the text.

Also, sometimes they may be shown without the text, for example...

Since the corresponding words are displayed, that may not be necessary to add it to the icon. If they're well chosen, they should speak for themselves.
 
If you want to distinguish the "standard" icons with the "regen" icons, you could add an R or a symbol like this

Having a symbol like that (recycling symbol) is a great idea for the regen. I would still need something to distiguish vitality from mhp though :/

Thats my biggest concern really as I could also leave the little ++ symbol for regen.

It is, because he isn't done yet =3  You are correct.

It's actually quite embarrasing to post my ugly sprites after looking at the much nicer ones other people have posted....

Anyway, a long time ago I posted an attempt at a battler. Sharm, said that it's lightining needed to be more focused and mentioned how the character's arms seemed misplaced. Anyway, here's attempt thirty-something at it.



The ligthining on her legs still seems off, though I'm not quite sure how to fix it. :/

Yesterday, in a fit of inspiration, decided to try something different:



Though it still needs a lot of work, that leg looks really, really  weird, though, I'm not sure how to fix it. And the shading on her "pants" needs to be remade.

Here's my second battler attempt, the party's healer, "inspired" by a certain restaff character:



Sorry about the long post, since I don't get online often, I try to make the most of it when I do.

@Nir They look beautiful.  The barette on the blonde is a nice touch for her outfit.

Just beat the last of us 2 last night and starting jedi: fallen order right now, both use unreal engine & when I say i knew 80% of jedi's buttons right away because they were the same buttons as TLOU2 its ridiculous, even the same narrow hallway crawl and barely-made-it jump they do. Unreal Engine is just big budget RPG Maker the way they make games nearly identical at its core lol.
