well, to actually use animated icons you need to tweak the scripts so I guess that's part of why you don't see people using them... XD

For me I'd compromise and use one side view left and the other side view for the right to distinguish where the hair sits since it cannot be directly on top  of her wings in motion.  Then again I am very lazy =3

That aside the hair is beautiful, I'd risk telling you the arms need a bit more outline or definition against the dress unless you were going to cover them in sleeves.

It's just a small edit of the RTP fairy actually, but that one had short hair and I wanted long ^^

I guess that would be the best solution. Though I'm wondering how to do the back then >.>

I'll outline the arms a bit more :)

The hair over the wings looks really wrong, the one with it behind looks much better. If the hair had settled around the wings like that, the flapping would cause quite a bit of animation in the hair. It probably would with the other version too, but the wings hide it so you wouldn't see anything.

Slim, I wonder if you did a bit of longer hair coming down over her shoulder and then when the wings are furthest apart just do a tiny bit of pink as if the hair is coming down in between the wings - might be too tricky or too much, but maybe it would help portray longer hair?

  Okay, here's the newer version.  Tweaked some things and made the base silver.

Okay, well, I'm not sure what's going on with the highlights on the left side (when it's not swishing round), it got a kind of zigzag going on and it makes it look dented when you've zoomed out. I think that if you're going to use silver for the setting that you should add a little hue shifting to your ramp. The straight ramp looks a bit too plain when there's no color at all to it.

Hmm, I see what you mean about the highlights.  I'll have to work on that.

I actually have a proper palette made for the silver/grey, I just didn't apply it before making the gif.  Thanks for noticing that though XD

@slim - that's my favorite too... I'm actually trying to work them out to turn out like the mask but for some reason, I really can't seem to do it...


@palladin - must be really painful to have all those spikes

That is indeed much better.  Normally I'm not a great fan of the fairy sprites, but this one has got past my resistance.

@palladinthug

A very good rescue job indeed.  I was wondering if you were going to be able to pull it off, but it looks like you've managed it.  And the casting mushroom is great.

I see what you are saying.  I'll do an amend to the behavior and see if I can get it flashing with eyes open after a delay.

yeah, which is why it should open at the end part only... I think it might add some kinda factor to the whole casting animation. something like "when I open my eyes, it means casting is finished and you're doomed!!!" :)

I just wanted to drop by 2 of these tiles I'm making for a commission, which I'm not entirely happy with. Any help picking out what might be wrong would be cool :)

this is supposed to be a parasol that will go over tables at a cafe or something.

this is obviously(I hope) a vanity :)

Just beat the last of us 2 last night and starting jedi: fallen order right now, both use unreal engine & when I say i knew 80% of jedi's buttons right away because they were the same buttons as TLOU2 its ridiculous, even the same narrow hallway crawl and barely-made-it jump they do. Unreal Engine is just big budget RPG Maker the way they make games nearly identical at its core lol.
