She's so reduced in size in the image you've supplied that it's not possible to see any detail clearly.

But that's the normal rpg maker size, no?

I resized it in paint:

edit: click on the image then it gets larger.

That image is 49 x 100 pixels.  An Ace sprite is 96 x 128.  A Mack sprite is 96 x 192 (I think it's that tall, certainly taller than Ace).  If you have resized down to 49 x 100, you are going to end up with tiny sprites running around your map.

Okay, what I think is happening is this.

If you look at the hair between her ears on your front and back views, it stands up quite a bit, a sort of quiff rising above her ears.  In your side views, however, the shape of the hair is different, much flatter.  It is the transition between those 2 different hairstyles which is showing up as she turns.  Also the height of the ears is not quite consistent, so when she turns from side to back, you can see the difference there.

You're talking about the animation right? What about the spritesheet, is that one okay or should I resprite something there? :)

What are you talking about ksjp17? It's just fine. Is the larger image not loading for you when you click the thumbnails?

@BCj: When you made the animated gif you probably set the redraw method wrong and that's why it has all those stray pixels. The exact phrasing is different depending on the program but there's usually a way to tell it to dispose of the frames or to use it to help draw the next one, stuff like that. I don't see anything wrong with the frames themselves.

Edit: Took way too long to post that. You can go ahead and ignore this. ^_^;

@sharm

I took the 49x100 dimension from the image posted, which I downloaded to check.  After that I received the actual image which is much bigger and I made my comments about the hair and ears based on that.

@BCj

I'm not a spriter, I just do frankensprites not from scratch, so I hesitate to suggest the best way of dealing with it.  What does it look like in-game?  Do you have the same problem there, or only in the GIF animation?

@ksjp17

I *think* it looks okay in rpgmaker, on the animation the frames were clipping to eachother.

I'm still just wondering whether her arms/feet should be bare (without gloves/shoes) or not.

Just my personal opinion, but I think she's better with bare feet, but I'd keep the gloves.  They go so well with her outfit.

@bcj since it's for a commercial project, I'll send you the knit-picky answer, you're welcome to ignore most of it

Color: the characters skin is too greenish/grey.  I assume she's a lionish character?  or thats my guess from the coloring.  Look at some of these references and play with the color palette.

the rest of the clothes look good, I'm not sure if they're custom or not, but i really like the movement in the fur

Shape: the front view of your cat has a... muzzle?  if thats what its called on a cat :/  but your side view does not, the muzzle needs to come out 1-2 px.  the hair in front of the ears and the ears dont look like they have any seperation.... unless she does in fact have really long ears.

Shoes:  Depends on how feline she is,  a cat would not wear shoes, a human would.  Is she a human who simply looks like a cat or does she have cat mannerisms?

Quick edit:

Thank you for your comments!

She's indeed a feline character (think of Rei in BoF), so I'll change her feet. I think I need to recolour her gloves too, because they clash with her 'dress' on the sideview. I also need to fix her tail on the backside, as she has none there yet.

I'll start with recoloring her!

:)

A fraken edited portrait, try to look like very different but oh, still not.

A WIP resource piece, need to edit a bit further. Shadow of blue cloak is original using DS palette.

@cosmickitty Those were good examples you pulled, I looked at them myself a while back.  The soccer game one is among my favorites.

I agree she shouldn't be wearing shoes if you want the character to have a more bestial look to them.

I'm working on some XP to DS conversions.
 Next up will be some restraints and a behavior.

I also took people's advice and used darker colors to fix up the sprite:
 The dress is a little trickier, so that will take some more time.

@Avery Cave paintings?  That's fantastic.  I couldn't be certain from the first one, but the other two are very clearly mammoths and horses.

Hey!

I need some feedback.

I'm trying to recreate this chibi sprite as mack-sprite, but I'm struggling a bit. It feels 'flat', somehow.

Anyone got some tips for me?

Our latest feature is an interview with... me?!

People4_2 (Capelet off and on) added!

Just beat the last of us 2 last night and starting jedi: fallen order right now, both use unreal engine & when I say i knew 80% of jedi's buttons right away because they were the same buttons as TLOU2 its ridiculous, even the same narrow hallway crawl and barely-made-it jump they do. Unreal Engine is just big budget RPG Maker the way they make games nearly identical at its core lol.
Can someone recommend some fun story-heavy RPGs to me? Coming up with good gameplay is a nightmare! I was thinking of making some gameplay platforming-based, but that doesn't work well in RPG form*. I also was thinking of removing battles, but that would be too much like OneShot. I don't even know how to make good puzzles!
one bad plugin combo later and one of my followers is moonwalking off the screen on his own... I didn't even more yet on the new map lol.
