Tiles shouldn't be judged by solo images.  Generally it's much easier to see what's working and isn't when you've got it in a mockup.  I like them both but I think the left one is better because it's much less likely to upstage the sprite.  Also, the right one's shadows don't match up with the shape correctly, it just looks like a filter.

Thank you, in the future i will remember to post a decent mockup instead of the tiles themselves. I'll reshape the shadows on the right one. Im not sure exactly what you mean by "it just looks like a filter" though. Im using gimp, and i did the shadows with the brush tool. Thanks again :) .

I meant that the shadows seemed to be on the surface instead of following the shape of a 3 dimensional object.  That's the type of shading that a filter would do.  Unless the bricks were very rounded there's no reason for those shadows to exist like that.  Flat surfaces will either all have the same shading or there would be a very gradual transition from light to dark like you'd get from just putting a gradient on it.  If the bricks are sticking out from the mortar they'd cast a shadow onto the mortar and maybe you'd get some rim highlights only at the very edges of the brick.

depends on the rest of your game, but from just the tiles I like the shaded.  I'd do a little more shading on the bottom ledgey thing though

She's cute!

About the gloves, I'd add a little outline under them, the same color (the dark red one) as on their "sides".

@Omega Weapon

It's an intriguing concept.  I'm looking forward to seeing the finished work.

@BCj

I think she's adorable.  Well done!  The only additional thing that you might want to think about is adding a touch of movement to her plaits.

They are sorta moving on her backside view? Or what do you mean? :p

I've peered and peered and can't see any hair movement.  Must be my eyes.  I was expecting to see her hair bob up and down a bit as she moved.

Hmm no it doesn't move, because the Original sprites hair doesn't move and I'm not good enough at spriting yet to fix that.

I also found something weird.. when I imported the sprite in rpgmaker she seemed to be 'waggling', like a duck?? I have no clue how that happened because in my .gif she looks okay..

Finishing up the redo of my shifty merchant.  So far I am happy compared to his former stripes and coloring.  Still need to set the design of the medallion on his hat.

So I have worked on my tree-thing some more. The armor is really bad, I'll have to work on that.

Still have to add two hands, a sword and some scales.

I really need some tips on armor, seriously. (and if you noticed that there are no eye-holes in the helmet, you are correct :p Part of the character)

I made an ad in the commercial center to create a gnu sprite but I thought I'd have a go at creating it myself while I wait. I need to learn how to do this stuff on my own or I wont be able to afford to make my game. Anyway here is my first attempt at it. Does anyone have some tips on how I can make it better? I know the proportions are off but my main concern is it just looks too blocky.

Please try to aim the instructions as if I know nothing. I'm not an artist and this is my first attempt to do something like this.

Well, this is my first parallax map, or to be precise, my first map ever and it took me aaages (doesn't help that I replaced the floor 4 times). It's not completely finished yet e.g. I sitll need a stair downstairs and the map still feels a bit empty, but here goes:

Here is some company for Alma.
 I'll be working on his gun and behaviors next.

Our latest feature is an interview with... me?!

People4_2 (Capelet off and on) added!

Just beat the last of us 2 last night and starting jedi: fallen order right now, both use unreal engine & when I say i knew 80% of jedi's buttons right away because they were the same buttons as TLOU2 its ridiculous, even the same narrow hallway crawl and barely-made-it jump they do. Unreal Engine is just big budget RPG Maker the way they make games nearly identical at its core lol.
Can someone recommend some fun story-heavy RPGs to me? Coming up with good gameplay is a nightmare! I was thinking of making some gameplay platforming-based, but that doesn't work well in RPG form*. I also was thinking of removing battles, but that would be too much like OneShot. I don't even know how to make good puzzles!
one bad plugin combo later and one of my followers is moonwalking off the screen on his own... I didn't even more yet on the new map lol.
