"Dare to enter, a Dream World in its dark era!"
Non-Commercial game in development by TKZ Productions!

Website - HERE

UPDATE: I do apologize for not updating, I have been working on a new album and lost focus on the game. However, I have returned and I will be posting a new demo soon! -- Also, special thanks to Joseph Cowan for taking time out of his day to help produce the soundtrack.

The Sakata's Legend is a Mystery, Puzzle Solving, Horror and Adventurous game!

This game is purely based on my, Kevin Smith's, imagination. This game takes place in my dreams, my mind and my utter thoughts. Playing this game is nothing but a huge dose of sleep paralysis. Solving puzzles and mastering the world of endless oceans.

The Sakata's Legend, however, does not come straight out and express this motive, for it is my dreams, but is also its own world--A new universe.

This game is currently under development and is at version 3.2 at the moment!

I am looking for critiques and maybe some help! I am very experienced with Story-Writing, Screenplay, BGM (Level 1) and Topdown shooters on Game Maker! However, I am very poor on the graphical perspective while using RPG MAKER and my BGM is not, incredible, being that I'm not fully experienced with .ogg files.

Mayhem "Your existence is sickening!"

I have put two years of work into this game, starting from a piece of paper to RPG MAKER VX Ace!

You may have also noticed that I used a lot of the RTP sprites, this is due to my lack of skill with spriting for RPG MAKER VX Ace and I had to use the closest to my drawings of the characters.

I did, however, edit the RTP sprites the best that I could.

Quickest bit of feedback I've ever given, as I'm only a couple of minutes into the game.

You are setting up the atmosphere of the whole game through your choice of music and have clearly put a lot of thought into that, as the opening music is effective.  However, you completely wreck that, imo, by having one of the most annoying chirp/chime SEs ever for every single piece of dialogue.  Why does each text box need a SE anyway?  It wipes out the effect that your music is trying to create, and my guess is that after only a short while many players will simply stop as it will becoming too irritating to ignore.

btw, for your very first screen, you need to correct a typo.  It's the first thing the player sees.  The word "it's" with an apostrophe is an abbreviation for "it is" (see the sentence before this for an example).  When it is indicating possession, there is no apostrophe.  So, e.g. "the house and its furniture", "the world and its history".

ZeuroMiller: Thanks! That means a lot to me, glad someone actually likes it! :)

ksjp17Despite my minor mistakes, I take everything into consideration and will update the game. Feedback is great, even if the reviewer don't like it at all and I will keep everything up to date.

As for the chime, I agree with you, I began to get sick of it myself and had already got rid of it as of version 3.2.

The typo kinda slipped away from me, however I did make the dialog a looong time ago, I was roughly 10-11 years old after-all! :p  -- I am re-editing, I just didn't get to that yet!

I'm not exactly sure if you liked the game or not, being that there was no feedback on the concept, but I really thank you doe your feedback as well, I really need this to help make my game better and I was glad to hear from another player.

I can't give feedback yet, as I only got as far as the opening dialogue in front of the church, when the chime hit me.

I did have a thought, though, about the pre-title sequence (which is the only other bit of the game I have seen) which may, or may not, be of interest to you.

In my personal opinion (and I stress, this is my personal view, and others may well think differently) I think that Credits at the beginning instead of at the end is a bit questionable.  Players want to get stuck into the game, they don't want to sit through a series of Credits - which will get longer, no doubt, as the game grows - particularly when each Credit is on screen for quite a while.  Many players will hit 'Enter' to skip past splash screens if they can, so having non-skippable Credits may not be a good idea.

btw, did you realise that you have released an unencrypted version of your game, and that it has a save file with it?

Your personal opinion is great, don't worry about telling me them! I need them, If I don't know what to fix, nobody will want to play it! :) This is helping very much so!  The credits on the beginning are not all of them, however I still see what you mean, I should make them skippable and if I can't figure it out, remove them.  I am putting up a new version without the chime, and will go through the dialog a little more and try to fix all the typos.

As for the unencrypted and save file part: I meant to make it unenecrypted (i.e Title says Source File) for people to view the file, if they want to explore a little more lol, however I can change that if it's not allowed. As for the save file, that was a mistake! I actually didn't realize that, I don't remember saving, but I guess I did at some point! haha I'll make sure there are no save files in the next version. :)

Yay, now back in action Happy Christmas time, coming back!

Back in action to develop the indie game that has been long overdue... Final Fallacy. A game that keeps on giving! The development never ends as the developer thinks to be the smart cookie by coming back and beginning by saying... "Oh bother, this indie game has been long overdue..." How could one resist such? No-one c
So I was playing with filters and this looked interesting...

Versus the normal look...

Kind of gives a very different feel. :LZSexcite:
To whom ever person or persons who re-did the DS/DS+ asset packs for MV (as in, they are all 48x48, and not just x2 the pixel scale) .... THANK-YOU!!!!!!!!! XwwwwX
