An RPG where every little detail matters.

Attack the wrong foes, and you will be struck back.
Miss a detail, and the lore will remain cryptic.
Overlook a strategy, and the boss will kill you.

Meticulously crafted for the most experienced of veteran gamers, this RPG will test your mental abilities to the utmost limit.

It’s a science-fiction adventure set in a post-apocalyptic, fantasy universe.
A human sacrifice, fallen gods, titans and wielders of emotion…
All struggling to set the world right.

The sequel to Abyss of Vinsaga: Aquamoon Pandora for PSX RPG Maker. Released in 2003, it received 9.75/10 from RPG Maker Magazine and was nominated for RPG Maker Pavilion's Best PSX RPG Maker Games of All Time.

Made by a fan of the cult classics: Xenogears, SaGa Frontier, Phantasy Star 4 and Final Fantasy Tactics. Expect a similar experience, where you never quite know what to expect.

SYNOPSIS
The three have finally caught up to the source of all destruction - an ancient, living weapon known as Agatharos. Hovering above in their gunship, preparing to dive headlong to intercept their foe, they never realized their mistake. For years, they've been chasing the wrong target, and their final battle is about to become anything but.

Unfazed by the greater universe that gradually unfolded, they press on. Dragging with them, memories, wounds and promises. Will they catch up to the past, before their pasts lead them to ruin?

A STORY TO DECIPHER
• Slowly unravel the remnants of a world that was once full of life and culture.
• Uncover rich histories of the survivors and those that did not make it.
• Revisit people & places with different characters to unlock hidden scenes & items.
• Explore a deeply complex cosmology of beings and dimensions that transcend mortal understanding.

UNIQUE BATTLE SYSTEM
• Enemies become enraged and more dangerous with each hit they take, and so do your characters. Attack blindly at your own risk.
• Before each and every strike, choose from your entire inventory of weapons, each of which has a unique role.
• Pay close attention to the ever-changing tide of battle, as most attacks inflict one of over 100 status effects.
• Heavily-scripted battle system for better responsiveness and displaying status effects.

LATERAL DESIGN
• New weapons unlock more choices, instead of granting more power. Evolve your strategy as battles become increasingly complicated.

CHARACTER FOCUS
• Each character comes with a different battle mechanic that reflects who they are. Be it a transformation to unleash, the lack of a physical body or a mastery of scavenging, each party member brings something special to the table.
• Understanding the synergy between characters is vital to defeating stronger enemies.

MISCELLANEOUS
• 15 Hours of Story-driven Gameplay
• Full of Banter & Dialogue Between Characters
• 60 Weapons With Secondary Effects & Unique Roles
• No Random Encounters
• No Grinding Needed - It's all about strategy.
• Many Secrets & Surprises

NOT JUST RPG MAKER
• 12 New Javascript Plugins - Coded specifically for this game.
• Hours of Complex Cutscene Sequences
• 200 Skill Effects
• 130 Status Effects
• 150 Custom Animations
• 75 Custom Events
• 80 Enemies
• Several Remixed Monster Art

FOR FELLOW RPG MAKERS
• Contains many interesting battle mechanics. Every character comes with a unique mechanic, and custom code and/or events were added to make them work. Every single weapon also comes with a unique effect, some of which required Javascript changes. The battle system is also modified for a weapon-switching-based attack system, status-effect visibility, and more.
• Contains long, complex cutscene sequences, incorporating many techniques like camera panning, multiple event triggers, character fade in/out, and simultaneous motion for multiple characters.
• If you have any questions about how to do anything, feel free to ask!

How familiar must one be with Abyss of Vinsaga? A quick search didn't turn up a place to play it. I assume that might not be possible, if it was made with Playstation RPGM?

I'll be sure to try out the game! I haven't heard of that RPG Maker game that you mentioned which was released back in 2003. I'll have to check it out sometime today. Are there any missables in The Singing Scar that the player should be aware of? Also, how is the game when it comes to postgame content?

It was a long time ago (17 years, in fact!), and I don't think it's worth it. There's not much story in the original, and the reason why it was memorable was because of its ambitious nature. Back then, with PSX RPGMaker, there were barely any games that constructed its own battle system using the eventing system, much less one that did so with a lot of cinematic flair. There were a total of 3 battle systems, which I guess was mind-blowing for the time for that particular community. I don't think the game aged well at all, however. Nowadays, you can throw in one of a dozen plugins into any modern RPGMaker and you can get a different battle system.

The game is full of weapons, and each weapon adds different layer of strategy to battles. When you play the game, notice that Attack is replaced with Weapon, so you can pick any weapon from your inventory for each attack. You might miss some weapons if you just dash through each area, so make sure to look around.

Also, how is the game when it comes to postgame content?
There's no post-game. The adventure is mostly linear, with a big exploration section in the middle, when the world opens up.

Fair enough! Will try to check out Singing Scar when I get the chance, then.

That sounds fun! Have a similar idea for a gun mechanic in a test game I'm messing around with, replacing the "Item" menu with "Firearms". It was the easiest way I could figure out how to do a limited bullet system, but it also lends to the idea that the characters are sharing from a pool of weapons.

You need to have Omnicron (the robot) rejoin you, then take him to the crater ruins to the East. Look around there.

The crater ruins is to the East of the overgrown town with the plants. You need to take the boat there. It works like a town. Try entering the island to the East with the crater in the middle.

Are we talking about the same thing? You just to walk to the boat and ride it. Can you take a screenshot of where you are?

The boat is not in a town. The boat is on the world map, South of the Myssia, the town where Lilli joined you. It's right there, you can't miss it. That is, unless you rode the boat somewhere else and forgot about it.
