    Hello, fellow gamers!

I'm happy to announce that in a couple of hours after writing this post The Tavern, an RPG-Visual Novel hybrid, is going to be available on Steam at a price of 4.99 USD!

The game has a lot of text and is focused on plot and immersive dialogues. During the playthrough you make dozens of minor and major choices shaping the story and various details. We tried to make an RPG without grinding, XP-farming, fetch quests, boring walking and generic plots.

In our game you play as mercenary named Nalia - a single mother who tries to earn enough coins to survive the winter.

Your children need you to come back, but how are you going to act seeing the cruelty and rottenness of the outside world? After all, the monsters, dark magic and barbarians from Southern Tribes are nothing in comparison with the human iniquity.

Your story begins when you approach a weird, isolated tavern…

As you can probably see, the game was made using RPG Maker MV. Please notice that even though the game does not contain any sort of erotic/pornographic content, please notice that it is still an R rated title - it contains some strong language, grim and mature topics and the overall feel is quite grim.

Here you can find our free to play demo!

If you would like to see more details, visit our website!

And if you don’t like Steam we are also available on itch.io!

Let us know what you think! : )

Depends. My shortest playthrough took 12 minutes, my longest one about 100.

Sounds fine with me. I actually don't like to play games that are too long (because I don't have that much time).

I'll give this one a shot later. It's been a long time since I picked up an RPGmaker game.

For many players it reaches 180 minutes or more. : ) It's very difficult to measure since a lot of content is "hidden" or can be ignored. Basically, the more you look for and the more you engage yourself in the playthrough, the more you get out of it. : )

I know DLC require encryption, but I'm not sure if, you know, you should keep the game in one huge file. This is harmful for low end PC, causing the whole gamefile load into RAM and therefore overloading the RAM. RAM overload makes the game crash more frequently.
