Hello, I´m here to present the prologue of a game that I´m currently working on. I finished the prologue a few days ago, and it´s the first time I tried to create something with RPGMaker VX Ace, so I apologize for any issues you might encounter. The sotry is still in development so I can´t go too much into it, and I'm still testing around with some options, The main character sprites and the enemies were done by me. I plan on trying out to increase the number of frames the sprites have in the future, though I don't know how that will work out. The music played in the town and in the forest (except the random encounters in the forest) were done by me as well.

This game is kinda straight forward, there's no world mapand you can't change equipment besides gems. For now you can't buy potions or receive, so manage your supplies well, but I plan to put that in the next act. There are 2 different endings each with 2 variations depending on the information you gather at the forest, so be sure to explore the forest well, because there are a couple of hidden events.

Genre: Fantasy RPG

Average demo time: 1 hour

Setting:

The story revolves around three characters that in the process of rescuing a person they get caught up in something much bigger than they expected.

Characters:

Aron, The Black Knight, captian of the royal guards.

Vera, The Shadow Thief, a thief that likes the challenge of breaking in rather than steal.

Alice, The Neutral Mage, a mage in pursuit of her own magic.

Credits:

Scripts - Yanfly Engine Ace, Galv's, Moghunter, Pacman, Hime

Music - The Bard Song (karaoke version), Phantasy_Star_Universe_Hogosha_OC_ReMix

Sound effect: freesfx

Tilesets: Tora, Lunarea

I have finally made Act 1 one. I put a lot of work in this. I hope everyone likes it. One thing, some of the the music used in the game was created by me. The download link is right below of the prologue.

Hey RicJFNas, it took me about 45 minutes to get to the end of Act 1. Here is my overall feedback :

- I am really impressed with the cut scenes so far. The images you used fit very well.

- The music used is very good and original.

- The menu is very nice and customized, I liked the scrolling stars background.

- The Story line is well done and keeps the user curious as to what is going to happen next, you gave each character a fitting personality.

- The battle mechanics are well done, I like the custom sprites used.

- Some of the maps in the game are a bit bland, more detail could be applied where as other maps are fine.

- The custom battle skill animations used are very good.

- The sound effects used when enemies use their attack could be changed.

- During the scene where the city is under siege by possessed Dragonians, there is a guard who keeps walking around as if he is still fighting even though the match is over. Upon talking to him he says "Thanks, I was almost out of strength" which then triggers his movement to stop.

- The Dragonian Mage boss fight was well balanced, I also like the elemental gem idea.

- I was wondering why you split the project into two instead of one? Having just one project would keep the download size smaller.

- I feel as though the animated sprites used could be resized just a tad bit larger, although they work just fine the way they are.

Overall "The Three Guardians" has a nice atmosphere to it. It's a very good project. I will check out and review Act 1 when I have more time.

-Yeah, still need to work a bit on that.

-Darn it, I completely forgot about that.

-I'm working on a solution for that, but I'm running in to a few problems.

-The reason I it's split it was because of how I wanted to present my project, but I will put a complete file at a later date.

-As for the sprites, I could make them bigger, but then I would have problem to position them how I want them.

Couple hours of work. Might use in my game as a secret find or something. Not sure. Fancy though no? :D
Holy stink, where have I been? Well, I started my temporary job this week. So less time to spend on game design... :(
Cartoonier cloud cover that better fits the art style, as well as (slightly) improved blending/fading... fading clouds when there are larger patterns is still somewhat abrupt for some reason.
Do you Find Tilesetting or Looking for Tilesets/Plugins more fun? Personally I like making my tileset for my Game (Cretaceous Park TM) xD
