Terms of Use: Er.....I guess it's good for non-commercial use, and commercial use if you have VX Ace. I'm not 100% sure on this one. (ignore the readme.txt terms of use, it's wrong. Sorry, guys.)


Actually, if it turns out that this isn't permitted, then I apologize.

I haven't seen it mentioned, but you MUST have VX Ace in order to use these, whether you're making a commercial game or not.  If you don't have Ace, you can't use the Ace RTP.

EDIT: I'm making a full-out thing out of this. I'll be glad to pre-convert any VX Ace fan edits into MV-ready versions.

I tried to convert some Tilesets but i dont know, they all get kinda blurry, even after looking at tutorials I gave up.

Not at all.

I used Waifu2x, with Noise Reduction set to medium, and scale size set to 1.6, and then I opened up the image in GIMP, and used Image<Resize Image to change the image size down to the right dimensions to be accepted by RPG Maker MV. It's not always the same for all resources, of course.

EDIT: May I just add, that it was the VX Ace steam trading cards that inspired me to port it over. ESPECIALLY Mercy of the Saint.

Alice is always going to be one of my favorites.

Hee! Glad you asked.

Simply put, the more you upsize or downsize something in image editors like Gimp, the more utterly marred the image quality is.

By upsizing it to only 1.6, instead of 2, I can downsize the image without destroying the overall image quality later. I don't know if it'd come out the same if I put it to x2, but I won't look a gift horse in the mouth!

Gonna work on the next part here, since some people like it. I hope you like the regular people!

But now, I need some help deciding what to do next. I intend to grab some of those delicious emo facesets from VX Ace's hey-day! But SO many to choose from....help me make up my mind here! Poll added.

I cannot remember where, but *someone* somewhere (on this forum?) explained some tricks to make some clean resizing of VX/Ace ressources for MV with gimp/photoshop... also cleverly exploiting a first resize with a scale larger than the wanted one, followed by a downsize with the right parameters.

This is a pack of RPG Maker VX Ace assets that have already been converted for use in RPG Maker MV, without any extra work needed. In spite of what others say, i'm kinda in love with how Waifu2x does this. So, I thought i'd share this just in case someone agrees with me.
