The problem with T-Dog is that he isn't Tyrese. No seriously.

He just seems like the generic token black dude (which kind of sucks), when the comic had a MUCH more awesome black dude. There were also reports that T-Dog was supposed to replace Tyrese, which is a terrible idea, because Tyrese was an EXCELLENT character, and that pissed off the fans of the comic.

Tyrese was one of my favorite characters in the comic. All I got to say is. The Gym man. The Gym.
I disagree that his problem is because he isn't Tyrese. Tyrese was a very good character. The writers could had given T-Dog a personality instead of being the token black guy. I think any character can be good if they are given good characteristics and a personality. In this case T-Dog wasn't given either.

yesss tyreese. and i love how later on; like a year after it happened, even after tyresse was gone, glenn was in alexandria telling the story of tyresse's badassness to others.

yeah we were talking about it in irc. more people should come on irc!!

the governor doesn't seem governor-y, but he also does seem like he's going to make a good villain. like he isn't what i expected based on his comic counterpart, but i can't complain because it looks like he's going to be good for the tv vision.

also i like the way they seem to be splitting up the groups; in that andrea and michonne are the ones who find the helicopter and woodbury. it probably means that they're gonna skip the stuff with dexter and the other cons, but it's a interesting way to get to the woodbury stuff quick. :)

@Levi,

Just letting you know, I agree. I've read the comics and watched the series and I did NOT want to know that Rick may possibly die and I can't believe anyone can be inconsiderate enough to not put that in spoiler tags even when asked to. Enough of me being a adorable person, yeah, that's quite upsetting to know. The creator, however has also said in almost every letter that he's killing off people but he hasn't as of yet for example Michonne and Andrea...

I just want to say. I hate Carl. I hate him SO much. SO SO SO SO SO SO SO MUCH! I want him to just hurry up and die in the comics and the tv series. He boils my piss so much, it's his horrible face and horrible story. Just kill him off already!

Comic stuff, and a new character, not much but STILL WORTH A SPOILER TAG.

This may seem disgusting but by God I hope they do the Michonne rape scene in the series, obviously a lot less graphic but purely because I'd love to see her revenge and I can't wait for David Morrissey to show us some of his brilliant acting skills as the Governor!!!

People stop calling me inconsiderate. The writer said this in an interview. The whole world knows. This is not new news. It's not like I said Rick will die in the next issue. It's as if Rick actually died in the last issue and I said it. This is the writer coming forth with this.

Inconsiderate:

1. Careful not to cause inconvenience or hurt to others

2. Having or marked by regard for the needs or feelings of others. See Synonyms at thoughtful.

3. Characterized by careful thought; deliberate.

Believe or not... but some people aren't overly fond of spoilers. Some people, like myself, avoids interviews to ensure that the show is not spoiled.

You did not consider that, so by definition... you are inconsiderate. And even after we pointed it out to you, you did not care. Again, a trait found in those who are inconsiderate.

EDIT:

This part cracks me up.

"The writer said this in an interview = The whole world knows"
What sort of ****** logic is that? Hyperbole much?

You're not being reasonable. You're so defensive that your shield has blinded your judgement. People aren't calling you inconsiderate as slander, or to be *******s... they're saying it because it is true.

It looks really good.

MAJOR SPOILERS.

I cant help but wonder, if merle(?) will be the one to cut ricks hand off instead of the governor, as revenge for rick being the cause of him losing his hand. Also theres no way they'll show the rape scenes, or the governor torture scenes. They especially wont show Lori's baby's death.

er

I agree with you about the governor. He doesn't look like his comic book counterpart. He looks more militaristic.

The helicopter is a mystery. It was shown in the very first episode. There could be a military operation going on.

Has anyone noticed that the rich gets richer and the poor gets poorer? In both the comics and TV show there are no rich people. This is very typical in Zombie series. This is very important to notice. The rich has the funds and resources to hide and survive. I think Zombie writers do this on purpose to make us think about who may not be struggling to survive.

You're over analyzing too much. In these circumstances money doesn't matter. The only thing it's useful for is...a blanket.

Read my posts before saying that I have insulted anyone. I have not insulted anyone in this thread. I have explained to Levi that the comics are spoilers to the TV show. I asked people to stop calling me inconsiderate. How is that insulting? I have tried to stay on topic many times. I am being harassed by Levi and Leumas.

I'm not over analyzing at all. I am looking at the class structure. Money does matter at the beginning of this situation. Rich people have the resources to hid from this problem. They could had built special shelters for emergencies.

Think about this. You don't see the president fighting for his life. He is most likely hidden in a special remote location.

There are recourses for appealing moderator actions, arguing in the thread isn't one of them. If you would like to discuss it you are welcome to send me a PM.

... Rich people don't tend to have the resources ON HAND the moment a situation starts. Unless they are already kind of nutty. Basically once it all breaks out, money means jack. Yes your accumulated apocalypse resources would matter, but I don't think accumulating apocalypse bunker stuff is a normal everyday rich man hobby.

As for the Pres... that could be possible, but that has nothing to do with rich, more to do with the fact that Government shelters in case of disaster just exist, due to the importance, theoretically, of the nations leader during war. In case of an attack by a foreign government though. They aren't generally built for zombie attacks.

Rich people do not build shelters automatically for a zombie apocalypse. If anything they have a safe house, which would be null and void anyway once supplies run out. Money doesn't mean ANYTHING in this situation. And how do you know that none of the zombies encountered weren't rich? And how do you know that none of the survivors weren't in incredibly good financial standing? Here's the thing. You don't know, because it's never been explored in-depth. Because the economy has never been a focus on this. Thus you're over analyzing.

And the president having a shelter is more of a government thing rather a monetary thing.

Michonne was a lawyer. She probably had some scratch. There are also lots of characters who we don't even know what they did before the ZA.

Also as for government shelters—there was one, kind of. Alexander Davidson worked for the government and he knew about a safe area which eventually led to the creation of Alexandria.

Stop saying that I am over analyzing. Many main characters' financial and work backgrounds have been stated.

A person's behavior can give off many clues. However, we know their backgrounds without needing to look at their behavior.

1. Rick's Family is middle class. Cop

2. Shane was middle class. Cop

3. Glenn was lower class. He was a pizza boy.

4. Hershel's family appears to be lower middle class. Farmer

5. T-Dog the way he acts appears to be from the lower class.

6. Carol's family appears to be lower class. Her husband Ed did not go to college. He had less oppournities.

7. Daryl and his brother are lower class. Daryl had to fend for himself as a child because his father was a abusive drunk.

8. Andrea was a Civil Rights attorney. She was most likely middle class or lower upper class. She may had been rich to some degree.

Michonne was a lawyer. She probably had some scratch. There are also lots of characters who we don't even know what they did before the ZA.

Being a lawyer does not mean someone has a lot of money. Local DA lawyers don't make very much. It depends on what type of lawyer she was and her client pool.

Working for the government does not make someone rich. Alexander was security. He was middle class.

The only rich person was Tyresse. He was a NFL player. Professional athletes are known to not carry themselves as stereotypical rich people. Corporate rich has connections to the government. In many cases if you're in government then you own some of corporate America.

why are you even arguing about this.

like what relevance does this have to ANYTHING

also my post about davidson had nothing to do with how much money he made—he wasn't even a character that we saw, just mentioned by name. i was just adding on to the talk of government safehouses.

The point I was trying to make was that the financial situation doesn't matter. It's not a central theme to this at all. In fact, it's not even a relevant theme that has been explored. Because. Money doesn't matter in this situation. Again, you're over-analyzing.
