I was wondering if it were at all possible (I imagine it would be, the question being how difficult it would be) to automatically 'fade out' the portion of your monitor that is not being used by the game. I guess it'd be something like playing in an arcade simulator or emulator. Basically, the purpose of this script would be to draw away from the fact that we in the RM community tend to use resolutions much smaller than the majority of gamer's monitors.

Thoughts?

Do you mean: show the game on the center of the screen and paint everything else black?

Fullscreen++ script does that.

The script doesn't do exactly what I'm looking for... but it's still handy. So thanks!

The script allows you to black out the rest of the screen outside of the window by starting off with a small window and then pressing F5.

Well, sort of...

It does cause undesirable effects.

You mean the black bar on the cut scene in some games kind of a way?

Well there is no script but you can do as a event using picture.

But if your too lazy to open gimp or something or just wanted a ready to use file. here is the file (in attachment) I made and is being used on all of my games.

No need for credits since it rather dumb to have credit for a very very simple thing.

Just make a simple show picture event command and your done.

If I am wrong... Well are you using the high resolution DLL by any chance?

No, that would be inside the instance of the executable. I'm talking about blending out whatever you've got running behind the game itself. When you're running in windowed mode.

Couple hours of work. Might use in my game as a secret find or something. Not sure. Fancy though no? :D
Holy stink, where have I been? Well, I started my temporary job this week. So less time to spend on game design... :(
Cartoonier cloud cover that better fits the art style, as well as (slightly) improved blending/fading... fading clouds when there are larger patterns is still somewhat abrupt for some reason.
Do you Find Tilesetting or Looking for Tilesets/Plugins more fun? Personally I like making my tileset for my Game (Cretaceous Park TM) xD
