This is neat. Always felt battles were missing that extra something, and now I know what it is. If you couple this with a plugin/event to change the BGM as well, this would add some real dramatic flair for those near death experiences in combat.

Does this only work in battles or also on field?

Battle only.
For map field, you can just do it from parallel common event.

Sure, but i feel like that plugins perform better then common events, thats why i asked

Good point. Looking at how I code this, it should be as simple as adding a checker in the map scene and should work just by that. I will get back to it later. If I update it at all, it is probably in a form of "add-on" rather than updating the main plugin.
