The destined day has come. Harold, Therese, Marsha and Lucius must save the world from the clutches of the Evil Overlord.


But wait, what's that? The sealing magic failed! As the world collapses around them, they must venture back to the surface and restore order.


Will they prevail or fall prey to the underground denizens? 


 
This game is made for the MVLympics 1 week game drive but is only made within like 3-4 days so far.
 
Features and Gameplay
 
- You must conserve and be mindful of how you defeat opponents. Wasteful use of your stamina spells certain death. 
- Prana Passive. If your Pr(ana) reaches 100, you will activate a certain character's special effects!
- Permadeath. 
- Exploration! With Deckiller's cool maps!
- Pretty arts by Marimo.

Marsha looks so cute.

Hell, the entire RTP cast redrawn looks really good! I can't wait for this. And to get this much done in less than a week is incredible.

Edit: super quick feedback.

Visuals

  • The windowskin and font are a very nice combination. Together with the beautiful and interesting art style of the portraits, it gives a seriouesness to the look of game that slightly reminds me of The Dark Spire from Atlus.
  • The lighting effects are very atmospheric without being too much.
Combat

  • I like the mechanics and synergy of the battle skills. I am a huge fan of mechanic-heavy battles that encourage using the right abilities at the right time, so I am excited to see more complex and challenging battles that would put the skills you've designed to work.

Oh I didn't have the time to use Luna Engine actually. The scripts here are as vanilla as they can get. 

AltMenu from Yoji Ojima just customized a bit, Yanfly Battle for the engine base, the battle bust is a personal private script and a small snippet from rhyme to make the gauges slanted.

This is really cool! Giving it a go right now!

Thanks a lot Kenen! I needed to know if the direction is going as intended and it seems that it is. The skills so far seem to confuse some people so there will be some slight changes. But thanks again~

The Early Build is pretty short but looks already nice and promising.

Good mapping, pretty art, nice windowskin and font choice, interesting skills and the lighting\shadow effects add a lot of atmosphere making the exploration fun. I just noticed the new screenshot added at the bottom of the main post, that parallax background is pretty cool, it makes that map appear more unique. The MV heroes certainly look better than before, Harold is more mature and strikes me as someone blunt and sarcastic now, Lucius doesn't look like a normal nerd anymore (he looks like a badass one), Marsha is pretty cute but Therese will be my woman because...green hair. Everything looks great, I'm sure the Evil Overlord will be fabulous and with a charismatic and striking personality too.

Looking forward to play the rest, kudos to everyone for making all this in only 3 days.

The early build looks really nice visually. Combat, maps, portraits and the UI looks very well done so far. It's just a really small taste of the game, but I agree that it looks very promising. Can't wait to see the full game.

 

Well done to the team members involved in creating this game. It may not have been completed for the MVLympics event, but I hope to see this completed soon.

No, seriously, please make sure it gets completed.

Really small demo, but I liked the mapping and the light effects. The battle animation was so smooth, I really liked it too! Nice work!

Oh, and I laugh really hard when I opened the first treasure chest.  :guffaw:

Hahaa, I got credit for linking the font.  Glad it helped.  Looks great!  I'll try it out sometime this weekend and give my initial impressions.  Still, keep up the good work. :D

Hi, and congratulations for your great work (amazing how your job on the HUD, menu, portraits can make it like "serious" even with the very childish look of the MV RPT)!

Well, wasn't expecting the demo to be so short. I've completed it in almost 5 minutes.

Anyway, I like the aesthetics of the game. And the maps are really nice. Gameplay wise... Quite hard (especially if you don't have potions to heal you.).

Keep up the good work!

It's in your Kadokawa Plugins folder included by default in RPG Maker MV.

Progress Update!

Hello dudes and dudettes, 
After failing miserably with my target deadline, I decided to write what's been up. 


* After hounding Deckiller away from the depths of Hades, because Liberty damn youuu for assassinating him, all maps are done! They all just need to be prettied up with light effects and such. Which is admittedly a time consuming process for me right now with the way Pixi is handling WebGL and Canvas mode so differently. 


* We're still working on a particle engine since my masochism reached its limits and it said, no more eventing animations...please.../o/ 


* We have a few CGs needed. That is until I have to nudge marimo here and there and stop giving her 123131 other things to do. 


* And a few more sprite poses. Because talking while sprites do absolutely nothing but wave their lamps around is boring. 


* Plot needs more writing as soon as I get my sprites together. 


And that is about the work that needs to be done. It's the last 99% after the first 99%. All database is complete, battle mechanics is complete. The game's draft from start to finish is complete. Now all that's left is getting off my slow ass and finish work and watch some bunny and turtle vids to relieve stress so I can focus more on TSTW. And the reasons above. \o/

Evening humans! How goes the game make?
The anime characters we saw 20 years ago,
still have the same age when we see them now.
Somehow it's strange but also beautiful.
