On topic: telling someone "thats hard to do" is very different from "dont do it" if you're a newbie telling you that something its hard to do or implement means that you're a level 1 trying to do a level 40 thing, you need to learn the engine a bit more before getting stomped by the lv40 task and quitting because you couldn't do your awesome idea for being unprepared.

I think it's right to somehow manage their expectations. Usually when they ask for something that is very far away from what the Maker is supposed to be, chances are they chose the wrong one and others would work better. If they still want to do it, they should know that it is not within the Maker, could potentially be added by scripts or plugins, but is a huge undertaking.

Someone that asks for MMO stuff should know, that it is nearly impossible and nobody ever managed to do it properly. Saying "nobody did it so far but if you REALLY try hard you will be the first"... would in my opinion be worse than "it's impossible".

Implementing multiplayer in an engine that wasn't designed for it is difficult. Doing so is not beginner friendly territory.

The first link is more about a discussion on whether not Enterbrain would make a 3D RM in the future. Not too relevant.
Apart from that one, the topics contains a bunch of ideas and directions the OP could pursue. Looks like this forum is working with various people chiming in.
Can be a bit frustrating to see when new people overly focus on a negative response ignoring perfectly fine solutions by other people. It's like they don't actually to solve their problem. Luckily doesn't seem to happen to often, and even when it does other people can still benefit ^^

P.s. some problems do have no solutions. For example. It is literally impossible to make a plugin that can take any other plugin as input and then enable and disable it at will during runtime.

the reason I say this is: I've been told making a multiplayer online game with RPG Maker MV was impossible(a few years ago), found no tutorials and when I asked all I'd get was a "tl;dr give up" and yet I made from ground up one, out of pure spite for those answers(and learned a lot of javascript and node.js on my own)

This is hardly changing something that is "hard" to be something that is "easy". I bet you it wasn't EASY for you to learn javascript and make a multiplayer online game. It's easy to say "break it down into smaller steps then tackle one step at a time". But I bet it was anything BUT easy to actually do that.

It took you a lot of time and effort to do those things. And I believe most of the people who asked for multiplayer online games weren't willing to give either of those - they wanted someone else to do it for them, or hoped someone else had already done it.
