But I can use any sprites? Or do they have to be animated?

Most sprites are animated... I think you can use normal sprites with yami's script too, but of course they won't look as good as holder style sprites

+if you're only going to use the normal sprites, might as well just use yanfly's script for adding battler to your actors... coz that is much much less configuration than yami's

What do you mean "adding battler"? I assume that's a typo :p .

I'd like to use other sprites though. I've used a lot of them in my current game. I'd like to spice it up. But I can't find a good set of actors with face sets. I've looked here and other places too. I might just be picky but I can't find a good set or what I'm looking for

In the default battle system, your actors don't have a battler right? you only see the name of your actors, but no visual sprites... only enemies have battlers...

Now that's what the battler scripts like Yanfly's, Yami's, Victor's etc does... it allows you to have battlers for your actors... plus a lot more...

Now, if you only want to have the basic capability of having battlers for your actors, then yanflys scripts are the easiest to use... it uses the current sprite for your actor as a battler sprite

If you want support for both normal and holder style sprite battlers, plus custom animations (like your character goes to enemy, hits with a weapon sprite etc), then go with Yami's

I won't suggest Victor's since it's harder to implement, and since you're also gonna use Yanfly's scripts, you might need to edit Victor's scripts to be compatible with yanfly...

Yeah then I'm going to stay with Yanfly's battle system + Yami's so I can use custom actor battlers. I just have to find ones I like :(

I'm really having a hard time finding Holder style battlers. Even with using ALL of his, it wouldn't be enough. It's only a small handful from looking at his gallery and resources/website. Can any "normal" battler be converted to a Holder style battler using Yami's script? Or do you have to have the Holder battler image for it to work? At the moment I'm just using Yanfly's system and that's fine but I'd really like to incorporate Yami's Symphony as well

You need to make the battler's yourself... there's no such thing as a script that auto creates all sprites that you need...

Okay. My bad. I could have sworn reading Yami's script it said to use a script call and it would turn the battler into holder style but I may have just misunderstood. I'll look for more battlers. Haven't been able to really find any more that are holder style though

well, you can still use symphony to animate the normal character spritesheets (like move them towards the target)... as the holder thing is just an add-on anyways...

though they wouldn't look as nice as when you have custom holder style battlers...

Yeah I've seen that. Any more than two and the map looks cluttered. I wish he made more! I can't find any more holder style battlers

what do you mean more than 2 and the map looks cluttered? the normal character sprites I'm talking about are the same as those you use on your characters not the default enemy battlers...

Oh I was talking about the RTP battlers (the enemies). Not the sprites. I'm fine with the RTP ones for actor battlers

the RTP battlers are quite bad to animate, they are better off non-animated (some slight forward movement is quite fine though)...

well you still need simple sprites for the enemies... but I guess they are easier to find than holder style ones... else, you really need to make them on your own or request for graphics... that's the downside of wanting to break away from the default system of the maker... but in the end it will be good for your game anyways...

Yeah but my request is on the ludacris side. I'd want at least 20, maybe more Holder style battlers for the enemies. Or at least a mix of the RTP ones made into Holder style and brand new ones

I can't expect anyone to want to make that much. And there's no way I want to either. I wouldn't even know where to start

Ugh at this point I would pay for them if I could get my hands on at least 25!

Holy stink, where have I been? Well, I started my temporary job this week. So less time to spend on game design... :(
Cartoonier cloud cover that better fits the art style, as well as (slightly) improved blending/fading... fading clouds when there are larger patterns is still somewhat abrupt for some reason.

Back in action to develop the indie game that has been long overdue... Final Fallacy. A game that keeps on giving! The development never ends as the developer thinks to be the smart cookie by coming back and beginning by saying... "Oh bother, this indie game has been long overdue..." How could one resist such?
