Thoughts for a possible series?

For some strange reason, I've been getting an idea in my head for a game made for RPG Maker.

The story would be simply: Main character is a young Bard, most likely teenager at the start (for some reason I'm picturing his outfit to be the one in MV with the "Red Mage" look to it) and a badass old man by the end. Words and stories and the power of one's voice is part of the magic of this world, as you might expect given the main character's profession. He wishes to be a great Master Storyteller someday, and the adventures he has over the years takes him to all sorts of places in his world and yes, he does end up saving it at least once. There'd be multiple endings too.

But out what I think would be interesting is to have each game in that series be made with different RPG Makers. Start with 2000, then the second is 2003, then XP, then VX Ace, then lastly the finale would be MV. And MV soundtrack wise would bring us back full circle- or at least 4/5ths of a circle anyway.

I'm just getting back into RPG Maker so that probably won't come into fruition for awhile, since I wouldn't know what I was doing. But hey, sounds kinda cool to me.

If so, how are you going to carry over the bard's choices between different makers?

Or would you choose which endings ideally lead to the next game in the series?

I would imagine a good fix for this would be what Mass Effect did where they had a DLC where instead of playing ME1 (if you didn't own it) or going with the default scenario, the player could re choose the path they had made for their character through a sort of comic book cut scene.

Here is the YouTube video for that intro cutscene (I think he doesn't show all the paths as I only had a quick look, but it will show you what I mean)

They did the same for Mass Effect 3, if I remember right. The game throws you a number of hypothetical scenarios where you have to choose one answer or the other and the answers you supply dictate what I assume would be how you shape the events that will follow in the game.

Another option is to build the next chapters over your original project so it retains all the data the first game had and players can move their save files over. It's worked on RPG Maker 2000 up until VX Ace for me. Not so sure about MV yet.

Ooooh... I hadn't thought of that. I was just thinking of going Bad Ending, Good Ending, True Ending. Though I guess to get said endings, choices would have to be made that would effect that.

Like for example- Bad Ending has either him or everyone dead at the end of the story or he sails away to parts unknown all alone and despondent over his choices in life, never to be seen again.

But... Actually are there any really big differences between 2000 and 2003? Is it possible to put the songs from 2003 into 2000?

Also, that ME2 intro was cool! I didn't know that was a thing.

Does anyone know any good RPG Maker 2000/2003 tutorials anywhere that are in English?

Hmmm... I'm less impressed with RPGM2K than I thought. Yeah, it's not as complicated as I thought it would be but it also looks... very limited on what exactly you can really make. There's no Classes, so I'm not sure I even CAN create a Bard character or not, for one.

Don't forget, aspiring writers: Personality isn't what your characters do, it is WHY they do it.
Hello! I would like to know if there are any pluggings or any way to customize how battles look?
I was thinking that when you start the battle for it to appear the eyes of your characters and opponents sorta like Ace Attorney.
Sadly I don't know how that would be possible so I would be needing help! If you can help me in any way I would really apreciate it!
