For some strange reason, I've been getting an idea in my head for a game made for RPG Maker.
The story would be simply: Main character is a young Bard, most likely teenager at the start (for some reason I'm picturing his outfit to be the one in MV with the "Red Mage" look to it) and a badass old man by the end. Words and stories and the power of one's voice is part of the magic of this world, as you might expect given the main character's profession. He wishes to be a great Master Storyteller someday, and the adventures he has over the years takes him to all sorts of places in his world and yes, he does end up saving it at least once. There'd be multiple endings too.
But out what I think would be interesting is to have each game in that series be made with different RPG Makers. Start with 2000, then the second is 2003, then XP, then VX Ace, then lastly the finale would be MV. And MV soundtrack wise would bring us back full circle- or at least 4/5ths of a circle anyway.
I'm just getting back into RPG Maker so that probably won't come into fruition for awhile, since I wouldn't know what I was doing. But hey, sounds kinda cool to me.
