The screenshots have been updated with new visuals!
Sorry for the lack of updates; most of what I’ve been working on lately has been behind the scenes. For example, I recently implemented items which put a temporary elemental enchantment on your weapon. This seems simple enough, but it actually involves the basic attack for each weapon running a check for nine states to determine the hit animation. I’ve also been plugging away at the level design. Specifically, I’m trying to direct players a bit more during the early game while they learn basic mechanics. Things are starting to look very solid in certain parts of THRONE, so thank you for your support, critique, and patience.

I'm close to having a playable demo! I don't want to put a hard deadline on myself, but it looks like it will come out within the next few months. :)

Cool looking game! I’m excited to see a demo when it is released. I’ll keep my eyes peeled for it.

I’m not a huge fan of dark souls games but the dark fantasy setting and piano music and the overall graphics have my interest.

Great job!

Good to hear you like those ideas, rue669! Making them function has been a great learning experience. :)

Regarding the demo, it will include 3 dungeons, 5 days, and 2 playable characters! I'm working on getting it out as soon as possible.

Here’s a combat video, as suggested by a reddit commenter! :)
I got into a close call here because of limited action points! If you aren’t prepared for battle, you’ll probably have a challenging experience. As you can see, invocations cost health to cast. Additionally, guarding recovers a small amount of AP.

This looks really interesting! Is the combat mostly centered on bosses or are there lots of lesser enemies to fight as well?

Good question, and thanks!
There are definitely avoidable small enemies to fight, but less than in most jrpgs. Fighting a challenging enemy like the one pictured might reward you with something useful, like a stat upgrade or empty flask.

There are definitely avoidable small enemies to fight, but less than in most jrpgs. Fighting a challenging enemy like the one pictured might reward you with something useful, like a stat upgrade or empty flask.
Ok very cool. So is the enemy pictured a boss or just a more challenging enemy?

I'm a simple man. I see "Soulslike" and I click like. Also as soon as I saw Soulslike I didn't bother reading or looking at anything and went looking straight for a Download button. Sadly it doesn't exist so I had to scroll back up to see the games screenshots. Nice work. Hope to see a demo soon as soulslikes are my jam.
