Good Day Sirs,

If i Used A Tileset That was Downloaded From The Web, And Edit It By Re-sizing and Recoloring, Do I Get Sued By The Original Tileset Creator? Is It Legal To Use Those Tileset In-case I Decided To Sell my Finish Product? I Had Collected A Lot Of Tileset Prior Obtaining, Most Of Them Are Renamed, So It's Hard To Give Credit To The Owner. I Just Wanna Be Prepared For The  Worst Case Scenario.

Thanks

jiedo

If you can't give credit, then in most case you aren't allowed to use them, no matter if commercial or not.

You can ask for help what tilesets that are by posting them, and reconstruct the creator data.

As for the rest of your questions, there isn't a general answer - it depends on the terms-of-service from the creator, which is another reason for finding the correct credits.

And please, DON'T capitalise every word, it makes your post annoying to read.

That was...difficult to read.  Anyway, as Andar pointed about, contact the original creator of the tileset.  Ask them their terms.  If they say it's okay to edit and use them commercially, you're good to go, but if not, they have the right to seek legal action against you should you not follow their terms.  Even if they say no credit is necessary, it's wise to do so anyway to show the creator some support for their hard work.

Thanks, didn't expect to have this fast response. Time to delete those tilesets.

Sorry about my typing habit.

It's fine.  Better that you know now so people don't get annoyed.  As for the tiles, glad we could help!  Never be afraid to ask questions! :D

Just beat the last of us 2 last night and starting jedi: fallen order right now, both use unreal engine & when I say i knew 80% of jedi's buttons right away because they were the same buttons as TLOU2 its ridiculous, even the same narrow hallway crawl and barely-made-it jump they do. Unreal Engine is just big budget RPG Maker the way they make games nearly identical at its core lol.
Can someone recommend some fun story-heavy RPGs to me? Coming up with good gameplay is a nightmare! I was thinking of making some gameplay platforming-based, but that doesn't work well in RPG form*. I also was thinking of removing battles, but that would be too much like OneShot. I don't even know how to make good puzzles!
one bad plugin combo later and one of my followers is moonwalking off the screen on his own... I didn't even more yet on the new map lol.
time for a new avatar :)
