Ok Im having a problem. If this isnt the place Im sorry. Im trying to figure out how to use tilesets from individuals like White Dragon, Synthian bard, ect. while reducing how many tile sets are in game. Basically I find a tile say a world map road, and a recolor of some grass I like but I don't know how to implement them in game. Help? Edit: Basically I want to implement assets and build a tile set but dont know what I am doing
'Tutorials' is where people who have created a tutorial on a topic can post it for others to share. I've moved this thread to RPGMaker MV. Please be sure to post your threads in the correct forum next time. Thank you.
Well you either have to edit the original files (not recommended) or create new content and IMPORT it inside your project. You click on the folder with the colorful cubes on the main MV GUI. This is the Resource Manager. Resource manager can be chosen from Tools in the main menu. Select img/tilesets. That is where you are supposed to add new files of tilesets. Click import and choose a file from your computer. YOU ARE NOT DONE. Open Database. Got to Tilesets. This tab shows actually SETS of tilesets, meaning sets of files with tiles. Change maximum so you can have one blank. Name it new. On the right side, there are selections for A1 to A5 and B,C,D,E. B,C,D,E, and A5 work like "What you see is what you get" The rest might animate or work according to other tiles nearby and what is inside them. Create a new map, choosing the Tileset you just made in the database. THEN you can create the map with the new graphics. I struggle to find a tutorial I made once.... Will post a link as soon as I find it. There you go! https://www.dropbox.com/s/2md7ot8e1z7owya/Tutorial_TILES_V1.1.pdf?dl=0
