So I recently splurged and bought a bunch of graphical resources for MV off of this site's store. Unfortunately, when trying to add these resources to my project, I became critically aware of a problem with the tilesets of some of the things I bought, specifically in the A1 to A5 section. For some, it's not that bad, but for others, it makes implementation downright impossible. The problem is that when you add them, the editor compresses the images in such a way that can render the image unusable. Here's the worst example I've encountered so far.

First, what the images look like uncompressed:

And now, here's what all of those become in the editor:

What's interesting to note is that this phenomena also occurs when I try to add the standard RTP tiles to a new tileset, although not to the same degree. Does anybody know why exactly this happens and how to fix it/work around it? I've figured out through looking at the pre-installed RTP tilesets that the compression itself seems to be a necessary function for implementing all tilesets, but it's compressing way too much here... I can't even use most of the tilesets I bought like this.

Also, if this is the wrong board to post this, I apologize. I tried to find the best place to post it, but I don't use this site a whole lot, so I'm not very good at navigating it. I may have just missed the right board.

It's not compression. What is happening is A1 - A5 iare autotiles, and those *must* be in a specific format. If they are not, they will not work. So you can't put a B tileset in any A slot, or vice versa. That is probably what you are running into with the RTP tiles.

Also, in MV the tilesets must be a specific size (what I don't recall, it is in the help file though), and from what I recall the Wild West tiles are too small as they were designed for ACE. You'll have to resize them for them to work right.

Yay, now back in action Happy Christmas time, coming back!

Back in action to develop the indie game that has been long overdue... Final Fallacy. A game that keeps on giving! The development never ends as the developer thinks to be the smart cookie by coming back and beginning by saying... "Oh bother, this indie game has been long overdue..." How could one resist such? No-one c
So I was playing with filters and this looked interesting...

Versus the normal look...

Kind of gives a very different feel. :LZSexcite:
To whom ever person or persons who re-did the DS/DS+ asset packs for MV (as in, they are all 48x48, and not just x2 the pixel scale) .... THANK-YOU!!!!!!!!! XwwwwX
