In the picture shown, when I place a D tileset, there's this shadow that comes up and it's really starting to annoy me. :/

Is there any way to fix it?

If the wall is from the A tileset and not anywhere from the B-E tilesets, try checking the transparency of that tilesheet.

Some people map floors or walls using tiles set in the B-E tileset, rather than from the A1-A5 tilesets. Placing one tile from the B-E tileset on another tile from the B-E tileset, would effectively replace the former.

Assuming that the floor is from the A2 ground tiles, and the wall is from the A4 wall tiles, tiles from the B-E tilesets placed on them would not replace them.

Some tilesheets downloaded from the internet come in either JPEG format, or lack transparency (ie. have a solid colour as the background). To check the transparency of your image file, you can use GIMP or any other image processing software.

Is your wall on the A tileset? Or the B-E tilesets?

A is for walls, buildings, floors, ground. B-E is for everything else. You cannot put a B-E tile on top of another B-E tile - it will replace the one that was already there.

Make sure your wall tiles are on the A tileset images.

It can also be that the tile on the tilesheet is simply off the grid - either by mistake or because it was intended for parallax mapping, not regular mapping.

Can you give us a link to the tilesheet in question, then we can check if you placed it in the wrong slot, or if the sheet itself has a problem?

And the picture tiles (or whatever they are, that's causing the "shadow") - are they on the A tileset or on the B-E tileset?

As you've marked a post as "solved", I don't know if you've resolved the issue or not. If you still need help, can you give us two screenshots of your map in the editor, showing the tileset palette? I'd like to see where the two tiles are that you're using. TBH, I'm not even sure what "shadow" you're talking about - I'm working on the assumption it's the grey area above the colorful squares.

Holy stink, where have I been? Well, I started my temporary job this week. So less time to spend on game design... :(
Cartoonier cloud cover that better fits the art style, as well as (slightly) improved blending/fading... fading clouds when there are larger patterns is still somewhat abrupt for some reason.
